This is the greatest video game of all time. Hands down.
Perfect example that just because a game is based on a movie doesn’t mean it automatically sucks. This game is clearly a labor of love, by fans of the 1979 movie, especially since they got some of the same actors to reprise their roles, and perfectly replicated scenes from the movie.The Warriors follows the same storyline from the movie, but manages to add to it. Rockstar took the time to show the events that led up to the big meeting at the beginning of the movie, including how all the main characters formed and joined the gang. We also get to see even more of the gangs of the city that didn’t have as much time in the movie.The combat is very solid in the game, you can perform damaging combos, and the characters even show physical damage, like bloody lips, and black eyes, as their health goes down, which I thought was a nice touch.As always with any Rockstar game, the voice acting is great, even if some of the actors voices are showing how much they’ve aged since the movie.If you’re a fan of the movie, and even if you’re not and you just want to play a fun as hell beat-em-up, buy this game. It’s truly a hidden gem.
