I spent years squinting in the car; using each passing headlight as a tiny torch to see my screen. Then Nintendo announced the SP. Never again will I be under the covers with a flashlight hoping both batteries hold up so I can beat whatever I was playing. It plays advanced, color, and original Gameboy games. If you are not collecting and just looking to play some older games then this is the prime gameboy experience.
Think of this as the DS Beta. If you just wanna play GBA games, you’d probably go with a DS, but I personally like this better. If you wanna play GB or GBC games, then this is definitely the way to go. When I got mine, it didn’t work, but I eventually got it fixed up. When I took it home, just a few minutes of gameplay got me instantly hooked on the darn thing. While I only have two games for it, just the original GB alone has such a huge library of games that there is SO much to choose from. The best part about the system is that it’s completely region-free, so you can play any game from any country. The only problem I have with it is that there’s no headphone jack. That always bothered me. But besides that, the GBA SP is a fabulous game system, and is totally worth adding to your collection!
I ordered the Gameboy in order to replay all my old favorite games. Came in today from CaveGamers and is in a much better condition than I was expecting. Definitely has some scuff marks and needs a new case but Other than cosmetics its perfectly functional
It came in early and it works great! It came with worn out Hello Kitty stickers and has a streak in the screen, but it was barely noticeable and the stickers came clean off allowing me to add my own.
I bought this for my girlfriend for her birthday because she loves old school mario! However, after drinking Conway PA water I have been stuck in the ICU for 5 months, a stuffed rabbit has been my only companion and she left me.
I missed my GBA after having a emulator on my phone..the feeling wasn’t the same in playing..now I can’t put it down and wanting every game for it..if I can find them

My son and daughter have had there gameboys…forever…the things are extremely durable. They always work no matterwhat they do to them. Well except for one instance where a little one washed it…it gotplugged in to the charger before it was dry and the charger port refuses to work now. I believe that is a simple fix. It does still work however if you charge the battery elsewhere.Anyway, short of washing the thing, they stand up to drops and kicks, and even being thrown across the room.I would not recommend that, but just saying, it still works! Compared with the newer release of the ds…I’ve had it for about 6 months and it has problem after problem. True it is a more advanced device and more sensitive, with the touch screen and all, but not good for smaller children who tend to drop things…so overall great item, very satisfied!
I’m really really happy that I got a week ahead from the original date !!! It works really well like if it was new !! ;) I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family.
I got this thinking it was a replacement for the one I got for christmas. Turns out, what I got from my cousin this past christmas, was a GameBox. Read the details, and look for sites that sell that sort of stuff online. There are places that sell that kind of stuff as legitimately as possible online, so don’t lose home.As for this specific product, its gold, simply gold. I love it. I have a few Game Boy Advance, and other old school games, that I play on this thing. The Game Box is great, but having the legitimate version is good too. If anything else, for reliability and durability of legitimate products that other questionable stuff just may not have. I am gonna get the Pokemon: Red rescue team game just to use on here, since the GambeBox, well, it plays that game, but can’t save on it. Granted, I’m old enough to be from the gamer generations that played games like that, and left them idling/afk while we had other real life responsibilities to do, then come back and continue to play the game we were doing before responsibilies called. With that said, this, the legitimate version, works well. I just hope after hard grinding on some games, that it doesn’t break down on me. I tend to be the kind of guy that works a system to its limit, just through legitimate/standard means. Like for the GameBox, on the Pokemon red version, after my Golbat evolved from a Zubat, one or two levels later, that I leveled up in the same area, during the same game play time frame of 6 hours, Golbat.
