The GBA console arrived on time and in the condition described by the shop. It was shipped inside a bubble-wrap envelope via USPS.There are some light to medium scratches in the screen which is a minor inconvenience, but not too distracting. The rest of the console body is in good condition. Color & sound works great and it included the battery cover. Overall, I’m very satisfied. My 5 year old son and I have been playing this for the past few hours with no problems. Thank you shop!
Not much to say, it’s pretty old but good and cheap, of course it’s infamous for it’s dark screen, but other wish great portable system, and compatible with many games for GB, GBC, and GBA (the only thing it wont work with is DS)
a gift for our 13 year old son he loves it plays it everyday it’s too bad I don’t have backlighting though
I’m way too old for video games and as a rule, I have never bought any. Until now. I remember playing Super Mario on and old Nintendo system when I was a kid about 10 years ago and deep down in my mind there was a longing for something better – then Gameboy Advance came along and I knew I just had to have it.I am now a proud owner of a Glacier Gameboy Advance with a Super Mario Advance pack and it is quite enjoyable (if not time-consuming). I am considering purchasing Super Mario Deluxe for Gameboy Color, as GBA is completely and utterly backwards compatible, which is a great plus.Overall, the playing experience is better than I expected for a tiny little game console. It doesn’t hurt to hold it for long periods of time, the buttons are in perfect spots, and the extra buttons on top allow you to see more of the world you’re in while playing SM2. The batteries are provided with the system, and I’m already halfway through the game and they are still functioning without a problem. The sounds is awesome and doesn’t have that weird distorted sound like old beat up electronic equipment tends to have. The only drawback is lack of a backlight screen. It is very difficult to play in areas without really good light. I heard it gets even worse for "darker" games. Apparently the worm light is a must.I give GBA 5 stars for the ability to amuse me for long periods of time. It is a great distractions from the troubles of reality and if you’re feeling escapist at all or ar.
I really enjoy the new Game Boy Advance platform except for one thing – hasn’t Nintendo ever heard of back-lit?? I can’t see a thing unless I sit in front of a bright window. Inside lights don’t work nearly as well – they don’t show the colors right. Natural light is definitely best – which means if you are not near a window or it is night – your screwed. I like several of the games though so it is worth the purchase – just be prepared for the light issue.
Getting hold of a press pass for ECTS this year gave me the opportunity to play with the Nintendo’s Gameboy Advanced, probably the most interesting item on display on their stand (they chose to show off the Gamecube behind closed doors the day before). The first thing that struck me about the unit was how much it reminded me of the Neo Geo Pocket Colour which was available in this country for the last year. Unfortunately SNK choose to withdraw the Neo Geo from the Western market and it leaves a clear path for Nintendo to continue its domination of handhelds.Nintendo have opted for a silver colour for the body, rather than the usual bright plastic toy colours it has been using on the Colour unit for the past year. Like the Neo Geo the machine is now horizontal with a ‘widescreen’ TFT LCD panel providing a very crisp display in the middle of the unit. Buttons haven’t changed much sine the original Gameboy: below the screen there’s the start and select button, to the left hand side is the 8 direction joypad (as with the Gameboy this just isn’t responsive or subtle enough), to the right are the A and B buttons and two new additions are here in the form of a left and right shoulder button.ECTS had 4 games on show, but due to the popularity of the stand I didn’t get much chance to play them. The game I did have a go at was a fun puzzler currently going by the name of Kuru Kuru Kururin. The object is to guide a rotating bar around a narrow maze, never allowing it to touch the edges..
I feel like the coolest now! I always wanted one of these when I was little and they were new, but I hadn’t ever gotten one until now, and it’s awesome. I had the original black and white gameboy. I have only one minor complaint though, and that’s that there’s a humming noise in the background when I plug my earphones in, but I doubt I would ever use those while playing anyway, so it’s no biggie :)
Excellent, and got some games fir it too. Great deal, very happy with our purchase. My son, loved it. Thanks
Works good, just like I remembered it.
When my husband asked to get a Game Boy Advance for Christmas, I thought he was out of his mind. How could my husband, a busy organizing officer in a computer programming company, want to play with a silly little toy like that? But because I knew he would not get it for himself otherwise, I did get it for him, accompanied by a copy of the Spiderman game, as he’s really into comics. When he turned it on and I heard the music, my jaw dropped on the floor. How could such good sound come out of a tiny thing like that? It sure sounded much better than any sound coming from my dad’s pc, I could tell you that much. And I quickly changed my mind for good when I tried it. The graphics are excellent, the commands respond immediately. It’s lightweight and you can slip it into your purse or case and pull it out if you are on a long train trip, for instance. It has adjustable volume, various commands (you don’t use all for every game, of yourse) and you can have challenges with friends by using the link cable. When my husband forgets his at home, it’s more likely that I play a bit, rather than checking my mail during a break from the household chores!
