Bought as a gift for a friend, he loved it.
This game was awesome. But you have to pay attention to it. Its not something you leave and come back.
If you can overlook the fact that the voice-over is Japanese only, this is an amazing "monster hunter" style game. The setting and plot are very unique, and if you’re a fan of "Attack on Titan", you’ll notice some familiar stuff. Gameplay is solid, controls are tight, graphics are above average for a vita title, sound design is above average. One of the better games on the Vita.
Such an ambitious and perfectly-executed game. It took the epic RPG elements of Monster Hunter and gave it super fast-paced gameplay with a unique and interesting storyline. It’s hard to believe that the Vita was able to get such a great AAA exclusive this year, considering the rumors that past AAA titles didn’t make enough money. The only complaint I have with this game is that they didn’t localize the voices. The text and interface is all in English, but the voice acting is Japanese with English subtitles. Personally, it doesn’t bother me, but I feel like had they localized the voices too, this game would have been perfect. Also, some people might be annoyed by it.You don’t need to like the Monster Hunter series to like this game. The only thing this game shares with Monster Hunter is that you fight giant monsters (well, more like robots, really) with various different weapons. Other than that, this game is much, much faster and doesn’t require you to spend hours crafting equipment and tracking down your target in a giant area. Also, this game includes online multiplayer with game modes such as coop, capture the flag, team deathmatch/pvp, etc. There are tons of character customization options, the music is great, and the graphics are great. This game seems to get an A+ in every category. And the best part is that the pace allows you to quickly just pick it up whenever you feel like playing, complete an operation or two, and then put it down. The story is not drawn-out and in-y.
Good!
Its kinda big im stuck at it but it has great storyline
I barely ever even play my Vita, bought it about 2 years ago and it’s been one of those decisions I’ve somewhat regretted just for the simple fact that I don’t use it enough….why? Because half the games are crap in my opinion, but this was the first game I’ve played on Vita that I can’t put down. The only con for me is that it’s Japanese with English subtitles. Definitely recommend to monster hunter fans and everyone else that’s questioning buying this!
Thank you
Great game, fun combination of combat and maneuverability. That being said… human enemies are overwhelmingly much more dangerous than the large automaton enemies. They move quickly using the same skill you posses, only much faster than you could possibly ever react in the game with your controls, they have god like aim nailing you with close range weapons from the other side of the map consistently. After awhile your victories become painfully luck based…Don’t even get me started on trying to avoid the melee users and their ability to dodge bullets while charging you head on.
A more complete version of god eater, but a lot more confusing. The crafting and upgrading system will make you grind for hours and hours but luckily without feeling unrewarded. However, the game’s design will prevent you from getting any valuable loots until you’ve reached a high level CODE level not to mention the game system the game gets incredibly difficult quickly and will force you to either grind the previous levels to upgrade your gears or go online to seek help. Balancing is a bit of an issue, AI sinners are incredibly annoying to fight with their flawless accuracy and you’ll find yourself getting killed by bosses spamming the same attack over and over again. But this probably won’t be anything new if you’ve played Monster hunter, Toukiden or God eater before.
