If your kids are Elmo fans, they will enjoy this game! We got the game when our oldest was 3, and at 6 she still has fun playing it. Now our 3 year old boy joins her. Fun for parents, too, watching the little ones dancing and singing away! The game may be too hard and frustrate a 2 year old, as was the case for our son last year. But at 3, he can participate in the simpler parts like singing and dancing. Be prepared at their height and proportions, the Kinect loses sight of them when they bend down or move their little limbs for the flapping, running, throwing and moving around parts of the game. It can lead to some major meltdowns and tantrums from disappointment. If an older kid or parent plays along, the storyline alone may entertain them. Enjoyed watching my big kid develop and master skills to play all the sections of this game over the years.
A little different when starting
My son is 4 and he gets easily frustrated on games. I’m glad this game and the kinect are able to let him have fun with less frustration. He laughs and has a lot of fun.
I have very young kids and I dont like them playing the xbox much at all. How ever this game gets them up on there feet, They sing and talk and dance with the game. And it is easy for them to use my 4 and 5 year old have no problem playing the game. They have a blast and it dose not seam to rought there brains.
aunque no es compatible con xbox one
Let me first start by stating I’m a gamer, I’ve played a lot of games but I never play them with my 4 year old in the room or even awake. So my daughter had no real idea what videogames were, until this game came along I also know that the family games out there are most of the time, just not very good or even frustrating. This game is none of that; it’s really one of the best family games I’ve ever played. The Kinect motion controls are very good, it slips up once in a while but its ability to track both my 5 foot 11 frame and my 4 year olds much shorter frame at the same time is amazing. The game also adjusts to the ability of the player and compensates if they can’t quite mimic the dance moves required.I’ve played this game once a night for an hour with my 4 year old daughter almost every night since Christmas and we just have a great time. The game is perfect for playing with young kids and they learn a lot about sharing and playing with others. I would say that if your child wants to play alone, that you wait till they’re a little over, say 5 or 6 as my daughter has a little trouble navigating the menu and doing some of the more complicated activities, however if you are willing to play with your younger kid its amazing. 2 can play at the same time and as long as one of you does the correct action the game keeps going, this allows my daughter to have fun, and not get frustrated if she can’t quite mimic the moves just right. The story and game play is fun for both adu.
My kids love this. It is a little slower then my 6-year old likes but it’s great for my 3-year old who I actually bought it for. It’s something he can keep up with and control and helps him learn generally how to use the Kinect and be better playing other games. Love that it’s all educational and positive.
item as described.
My 5yo had no problem keeping up with, and mastering, Once Upon a Monster – and the Kinect had no problem keeping up with her. More impressively, my 18-month-old, who is a little too small for Kinect to recognize, also likes to play along, and the game is equally well geared for her.One of the best things about Once Upon a Monster is its intuitive understanding of kids. If my 5yo is playing, gets tired, and plops herself on the floor, Cookie Monster will say something like, “Oh, you’re tired? Okay let’s take a break” and the game will pause without penalty. Brilliant. The control movements are also very forgiving, so when my 5yo is in sync with the game, Elmo and Cookie Monster encourage her on, but if she starts getting off they’ll guide her back with things like, “Don’t forget to swing your arms” and “This part is tricky; you’re doing great!”. As long as you’re sort of moving the body part it wants, the game is pretty tolerant of the actual coordination (or lack thereof). The drop-in, drop-out coop is handy, too, so Mom and Dad can jump in whenever and leave whenever, which the game does seamlessly. The story itself is the classic Sesame Street plot of sharing, caring, and loving. The game is propelled through a workout style series of mini-games that involve running in place, jumping, and mostly variants of those two things. While this will get repetitive quickly for older kids, it’s perfect for younger ones because it’s very natural to how they dance and move anyw.
Best video game purchase for a 4 year old. Game is active and fun for children. The graphics and game play we’re well designed for the intended age.
