the reason i bought my xbox, bruce lee qotd is the best game i own! ive loved bruce lees movies for a long time and im glad ive got a game i can be him in. i mean ive seen video game characters who imatate him like: mortal kombats liu kang, dead or alives zack and so on. now lets start describing the game, the graphics are great! i mean sure its not halo, but who really gives a damn about halo? the characters are great, bruce lee is practicly bruce lee. his face his moves and the sounds he makes not to mention the muscles on his body are exactly like bruces. and the way he moves are great as well! the enviornments could have been better but who cares this game is a definate must own.
A decent and all out fun bruce lee classic game. Based on all his jeet kune do philosophy, and moves. I remember buying this for my very first game back when the original xbox came out and I was hooked. THE graphics, sound and the MAN himself, Bruce Lee. This game is meant for bruce lee fans or fans of ass kicking in general lol. 😄😄 no seriously. If you still have this game in your library of games cherish it!!!
I read a review of “Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon” on IGN.com minutes after I purchased the game. They trashed it to death, and I was worried the game would suffer a fate similar to “Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story”… But being the huge Lee fan I am, I popped it in the XBOX, and prepared myself for a terrible game. They didn’t just trash the gameplay, they trashed the graphics(saying it was something out of N64, which is hogwash, obviously), the sound, and everything else involved with video games.Well, the begining cinema showed up, and showed a digitized Bruce Lee in action. I was immediately blown away, and began the game as quickly as possible. Now, if you’ve ever played “Final Fight”, you get the idea for this particular game, only with Bruce Lee, a human God. The sounds, the look, and the movements of Bruce Lee in the game are all quite strikingly similar to the man himself. That gets an immediate kudos, I mean, this is the next best thing, aside from Bruce himself.Although, the gameplay is a little iffy. The controls take a lot of getting used to, but when you do, you’ll be kicking names and taking ass. The only REAL complaints I do have are that the camera gets stuck in certain places, and that pesky “Lock-On” attack thing. So, basically, when you’re fighting 3 different people, you’re focused on one person; if you knock him down, then you are still focused on him… Although that has a remedy as well, just click “R”, but it still gets tiresome after a while.
The first game i’ve ordered on retrolio and it was like new, not a scratch! I’m very happy with the purchase and delivery time was quick.
This game was fifteen dollars so I bought it, but if it was $29 CAD or more I wouldn’t buy it. Because it will probably get boring after about two weeks but it is quite fun. And the graphics are as good as any old Xbox game. The levels in this game are all different, that’s what makes it fun. If you are a Bruce Lee fan you might like this. The fighting in this game is really fun, its just that you can only attack one person at a time even if many people attack you. I’d give it about 70% out of a hundred, I’d say rent it unless it’s cheap to buy.
I’ve checked out the graphics for this game at a popular [local store] and I was very impressed. All I can say is it’s about time!!! Bruce is back and with his trademark woooo!! haaaaa!! and Tons of thugs to beat … out of. All you X-boxers/Kung Fu nerds strap on your Gitana and open a can of … cause Bruce is back!
I have to give applause to the game’s creators for bringing Bruce Lee into the power of my hands. I have not been able to put the controller down since I first picked it up. The graphics are great and the story is interesting. It is also a great game to replay becuase you continuously figure out new combinations for different moves. Check this game out! I’ts definitely a keeper!
I don’t understand why reviews are being written for a game that isn’t available yet. Going to the games dedicated website however, there were a couple of issues to question. First, it says you must choose a fighting style to combat your opponent. Bruce Lee did not believe in styles, Jeet Kune Do promotes the use of techniques most effective in hand to hand combat. So why not utilize this philosophy as much as possible? I did not see any weapons being used. How about a bamboo pole or nunchakus like in Game of Death? Second, why even create a new storyline for the game? He was the leading actor in 5 motion pictures so why not utilize the storys from the movies? (A Bruce Lee – Chuck Norris fight from Return of the Dragon would be sweet!) But, even with these questions in mind I am still eagerly ready for this game. Bruce Lee fans, check out the video or DVD called Bruce Lee: A Warriors Journey. It has the full uncut final 40 minutes of Game of Death. Never before seen, the footage blows away the 11 minutes of footage that was shown in the theatrical release and it gives the true storyline for the movie also. Well as Bruce would say, “Be water my friend.”
I would only hope that this game brings more games of this nature. And if the game makers brought up the courage to see if the dragon could truly live again in their world, well only all the world who praised the dragon would feel that loss to be found once again. I am hopeing the quality of this game is seen throughs eyes that will search for the legacy of the dragon, and hunger for visauls in the movies as well for thier popcorn. I hope this game in all its glory brings the dragon back to us…
My nephew loves this game. He’s 16. Other reviews just insult Bruce Lee and that makes me feel bad. Those people that insulted Bruce Lee and his family are mindless. He is a great person. When I heard about his death I just felt shocked. I went to his funeral in Hong Kong before they took him to Seattle. He died of a thin vessel in his brain. His friend suggested a pill. He went to the hospital. His blood vessel started leaking when he took a nap. Then, he died. I’ll start talking about the game. Whenever my nephew comes home from school, he plays this game for hours. He always says, “Go Bruce Lee!” and “Beat em’ up Bruce!” And I, well, I play it myself too. It is fun though. If you think this is boring, go to YouTube and type in Bruce Lee: Quest of the dragon.
