Ok….got it….and I love it!first thing you do when loading up the game is it’s a no BS kinda game to get intoYou pick your players, and jump right into customizing…I easily spent an hr trying to get my team the way i wanted it to be.The legends pretty much look like who they are. but still can tell it’s a computer game…most have retained thier signature game. After that I played a quick game….so far I am impressed….2K didn’t miss a beat…they still retained the 1/2 time show…all the hits all the playability that made 2K5 such a hit….the controls will take a bit getting used to but it’s pretty easy to jump into….framerate was pretty steady and the animations was excellent…great AI also.Commentary still hasnt changed much but still gets you into the gameOne play my AI defender caught a sideline interception…instead of stepping out of bounds like per usual, he tightroped it and turned upfield for more yards….the CPU AI isn’t any slocuh either and will start bottling you up if you call too much of the same thing.this game is a real winner and sure maybe if they had the NFL licence it would give Madden a SERIOUS run….but right now….it’s a great start by 2K.2K is back in the game….don’t be surprised if Madden pulls all the bells and whistles out due to competition this year!!!
This is without a doubt one of my favorite sports game. There are so many different combinations that you can have when you are assembling your roster for your team. The game play is fast paced and hard hitting. I may be one of the few people that think this game actually benefits from not having the NFL license. What other game will let you use such legends as Walter Payton, Dan Marino, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, etc. I don’t think I will ever get tired of this game. Its a classic just like Tecmo Bowl.
First off-This Game is 100% better than anything EA/Tiburon/Madden has produced the past 3 years. Matter of fact, Madden should remove his credentials from EA.Graphics are Killer, even on my TV which is not HiDef.Game play is very realistic-I struggled at 1st, but then realized this is not madden and I really can’t throw a 100 yard bomb while running in circles. You need to play this game like Football and not an arcade game.Player AI is tuff. You can’t run the ball up the gut for 5 yards each time on FB fake left as you can in madden.Create a player is cool, and very detailed. My fiancee was wondering how I uploaded my picture, of which I didn’t.The game does lack some depth, however I’m optimistic that this is sorta like a Beta 2k9 football and they will add onto it for furture releases.I should point out, this is my 1st 2k football game. That being said, I’ve been a madden die hard since the begining. As anyone who has been a Madden Fan, you know the disappointment from the past 3 years.I was worried when 1st read EA got exclusive rights to produce NFL football games. My worries become truth when EA released a much scaled down versoin on the 360, then followed that up with another crappy release.I thank the boys/gals in 2k for bypassing the NFL and Players Union and putting some creative thinking together to stay “in the game”. A slogan of which EA should drop.If you like football, and don’t mind your team being called something other than vikings, packers etc, then this g.
The last 2 madden games I bought were 2010 and 2014 (for PS3). 2010 was underwhelming but it worked. 2014, or Madden 25 as they call it, was literally unplayable and had to be returned. Even though I bought it a year after release it had the same bugs that were never fixed. So being fed up with madden I did some research and stumbled upon this, which I never heard of at the time it was released. So I picked it up for 5 bucks at a local pre-owned game store. This game nails it. It’s fun, it doesn’t have a bunch of useless features and game modes. If I wanted to run a football franchise I’d get my MBA or something. But I just want to play a football game and this one delivers. So no need to for concession stand price settings and franchise mode for me. I have a full time job already. Anyway, the graphics are good considering its from 2K8. The momentum of the players is perfect from how the QB drops back to how an LB comes up for a tackle. One of the announcer’s voice is a bit shrill, but what they say is actually entertaining, relevant and much less monotonous that Madden. Play calling is good, and overall game mechanics/physics work perfectly. Some might say the lack of NFL teams and current players makes this bad. But I think it’s actually the best part. I stopped paying attention to the NFL after like 5th grade, so I don’t even know who’s on the teams now except the big names. What’s cool about this game is you can have legends on your team. Elway, Marino, Montana, Barry San.
best football game since NFL 2K5
great game great graphics all around better than Madden its a better transition from real football simulationit also has better passing mechanics
Best football game out to this day other than 2k5
very nice football! beat EA any day of the week! excellent game play. good graphics. nice price on top! only wish they won back the nfl licenses so they can produced a much more updated version.
The game is fantastic. I love 2K football games. If only EA didn’t buy the NFL licensing. Either way, great game. Only complain would be that there’s no NFL teams, but you can add a few in with the Team Builder. Haywood Games also shipped the game very quickly and it got here within a week. There was a little but it damage to the case, but everything works and is fine. I’m satisfied.
Was a little edgy to buy a used game. Didn’t have any scratches on it when I received it. Got my butt kicked by a friend too many times so I don’t play it as much but I am happy with my purchase.
