Very good game! Came as described and on time. Brand new and in original packaging with no scratches or anything.
Wow. Just popped this in after four years since I’ve played this and it’s still great; many games have followed (Amped 3, Stoked, Stoked Big Air, Shaun White) but none have matched the gameplay and control of Amped 2. The graphics, though not as refined as the previously mentioned games, are still pretty top notch, especially the mountain levels at night (Mt. Buller, Millicent 2 and Laax 1&2). You can see the dusk light peering through the clouds and the park lights giving the dark a subtle ambience. I still truly feel like I’m shredding down an actual mountain. The New Zealand level is especially realistic.I find the trick system (although challenging) is what makes the game stimulating, especially the style meter where you can rack up serious points if done right. It is almost on par with the Skate series by EA, where rotations, grabs and tweaks are done with the thumbsticks instead of resorting to button mashing like the failing Tony Hawk series (the only exception is landing a rail, where you have to press B instead of just landing on it).The trick is to do a grab with the right stick and left or right trigger and style with the left stick, being careful not to crank it too much, but progress the movement smoothly. There are some minor gripes, some being the Butter move, which can kick in right before you wind up for an uber jump. Sometimes other snowboarders will clip you just as you’re beginning a run. Very aggravating. Also, the challenges can be insanely frust.
This game was the last good Amped ever made, and the last good snowboarding game ever made. Sure, the industry today is about pew pew pew instead of extreme sports, which is why you need to reach back to appreciate the golden age of extreme sports. Amped 2 is everything you could want in a snowboarding game, and it takes itself seriously, not like Amped 3 which felt like it was developed by a bunch of fratboys. This game has better physics and controls than the 3rd game, and a better soundtrack. That’s all there is to it folks.
So I’ve played every snowboard game I could find, on all different kinds of video game systems, going back to the original Cool Boarders for PS1. This is definitely the one to play! There are so many pros to this game:1. Excellent, realistic riding flow2. Great graphics (even 10 years later!)3. Nice, varied soundtrack. You rarely get sick of the music from hearing the same track over and over.4. Great in-air control of your rider. Some games just can’t get this right!5. Sick trails based on real mountains and resorts. The only negative things I could say about this game, to be fair, is that the difficulty ramps up big time at the end (those challenges after you get the #1 rank are freakin’ impossible!) Casual players may be put off by this. Anyone else looking for the ultimate snowboard game, stop looking now.
I purchased this for my thirteen year old son. He could not wait for it to arrive so when it did arrive the date promised he was thrilled. The product was in great shape and I don’t think my grandson has stopped playing except to eat. You know how hard it is to feed a teenager especially when he is exhausted form putting forth all that energy and brain power on a video game.
Comme neuf, fonctionne a1 :)
This might be the greatest sports video game of all time. Highly suggest. Still play it all the time and it never gets old. Here’s my list:1. Battlefield 42. COD 4 MW3. Halo 24. Super Smash Bros 645. Amped 2
i keep my x-box hooked up just for this game! Amped 2 sets the standard for snowboard games out there! no lie, this is by far the best snowboard game ever. ssx are too fake and fast. amped 3 for 360, sucks compared to 2. Will someone please develop another realistic snowboard game like amped 2 for the newer systems please!!!! shawn whites snowboarding sucks along with every other one like it. i cant tell you enough how amazing this game is. you can take it slow in the game and ride very realistic or go fast and have fun. no fake stuff like SSX
Awesome Product! Can’t go wrong. Shipping was fast. No complaints here.
I love the SSX games, but Amped 2 was a nice change of pace, offering a more conventional and realistic take on snowboarding. Pretty much all of the tricks you can do in this game can be done in real life. The graphics are great. Customization is great. Lots of expansive mtns. to explore. It is quite difficult to master. The physics are tricky to master but they are beautiful once you do. Finally the soundtrack is really aewsome offering tons of music in different generic categories. Plus, this is a great game to play with customized soundtracks. Not quite as much fun as SSX 3, but the 2nd best of its type on XBOX!
