I love this game so much, and the service was great. Pokémon has always been part of my childhood and buying this game takes me back to the good old days!! Definitely worth the buy!!
My kids grew up on Pokemon and this one is one of their favorites for their DS game system. My son lost his and was heartbroken until I could replace it with another one. He said he preferred a new one, as a used one would have someone else’s data on it. Great game, highly recommended for long time enjoyment for the Pokemon game lover.
Bought this game back in the day in person from Gamestop, but bought it here for my SO. I remember loving this game and the new features it brought over the previous generation and the additions it made over the original Gold/Silver line. If you can get one with the PokeWalker, get it. It’s very easy to level up Pokemon like that and there technically are ways to trick it into thinking you’re walking.
I had a blast playing this game. It was so much fun what you can do that the end of the game and stuff. I play my brother gold version couple times and the battery die on it so I didn’t get to play it no more. I am happy they remaster this games with more stuff you can do on the game. Buy yourself a copy and relive your pokemon adventures again.
Unfortunately, the game which was sent to me was defective. That is NOT the shop’s fault, because it was a brand new copy, sealed, and it happens. It’s not the first time I’ve gotten a defective video game, DVD, CD, etc… I sent the shop an email, and hope to hear back soon.I could only play up to the fourth gym before my game crashed. I have restarted the game and it freezes a lot. After beating Ecruteak City’s gym, if I save and turn the game off, I’ll never be able to reload it again. So, my point here is that I can only comment on that far into the game.I started with Cyndaquil. It has a moderate growth, not too fast, not too slow. Good stats, and good for beginners (though I am not a beginner at Pokemon games). Chikorita was a no because even though I like it a lot, it takes a long time for it to get good attacks and stat moves. Totodile learns Water Gun at level 6 and Rage at level 8, so if you want to play a faster game, choose this one. Usually for my main team I go with grass, fire, water and electric, then pick two other types at random. This time I just abandoned grass completely. Caught a Spearow first, which is a really great flying type. It’s quick, and it learns Pursuit early on, which is great for Ecruteak Gym. I also got a Caterpie, which isn’t super impressive until it evolves in Butterfree. Butterfree is my strategy Pokemon for sure. I was elated to find a Mareep next. Mareep has overall great stats, but I find getting a good nature a little tough. Still,.
Old nostalgic feel with a modern touch, two regions instead of the usual one, and good old classic first and second generation Pokemon make this game a gem to own. Definitively worth the money. If you can, get this game. Though I did have trouble when I first ordered it because I didn’t receive it (I think it got lost during the shipping process), retrolio was nice enough to refund my money and I was able to reorder it and get it. I been enjoying it ever since. In my opinion, this game is LOT better than the current generation ones. If your a fan, this is the one for you.
I got into Pokemon as an adult (when I was a kid I thought it was the nerdiest thing ever, though!), so I haven’t played all of the games. But I’ve played Fire Red, Pearl, and Platinum. The graphics were great and I loved some of the “new” features. You can now do a lot more with the touch screen on your DS than you could in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. (Such as save the game, access your items). And your party’s first pokemon follows you around, which is pretty adorable. You can turn around and talk to her and see if she’s happy. :) The best part about this game is that it has two worlds in one – so instead of beating 8 gym leaders and the elite 4, you beat those, but then ANOTHER 8 gym leaders and the elite 4 again – only in the second map, the gym leaders are a LOT tougher, and the elite 4’s levels go up significantly for your second go-around. You can also rematch the gym leaders from the previous map once you’ve beaten the Elite 4 the first time around (either read an online walk-through to figure out how to do that or go back and talk to each of the gym leaders and they’ll explain how to set up the rematch). All in all, definitely worth it, if for nothing else than the improved gameplay!
This game is amazing and great for both newcomers to the Pokemon games and for people playing for nostalgia from childhood. I played Pokemon Gold as a child and this game kept the essence of the original and made it better. I’m just glad that I bought it back when it was first released, because the price for this game now is crazy, although, I guess that just goes to show how much people love it.
As a kid I’d never had the chance to play Crystal, Gold or Silver because my parents kept me away from video games as much as possible. This gave me a chance to try Gold (sort of) and it is one of my favorite Pokemon games! (I’ve had Yellow, Sapphire, Diamond, Colosseum, Black and this). The sprites are cute and my friends and I have always got our Pokewalkers on our belts.
Pokemon HeartGold demonstrates the complete thrill of a Pokemon game, complete with top-notch graphics, excellent story plot, epic battles, and great sound tracks. This game is really the total package, the Roy Halladay of Pokemon games. The story plot is very well written, and I really like how they end the game with the tremendous battle at the peak of Mt. Silver with guess who. Also, unlike other games where the top trainers and Pokemon end at Lv.70s (without cheats), Pokemon HeartGold continues thru the levels to the high 80s, and you can keep battling the trainers in the 80s as much as you like. I also enjoyed the drama of catching Ho-Oh, and I am also thoroughly impressed by the fact that HeartGold allows you to continue your adventure in Kanto after completing the main story–it really puts the cherry on the HeartGold cake. I am also very entertained by the way the Elite Four majorly improve after you obtain the National Pokedex (in fact, my only defeat in the entire game came at the hands of Lance, the Champion, because he improved so much and suddenly had such rare Pokemon is his possession that I was caught totally off guard). Finally, the Poke Walker gives the complete enhanced Pokemon experience. In short, this game is amazing. My huge recommendation to all potential buyers.
