Great game for the DS. Not like the original Frogger at all. Way better! It’s a challenging puzzle game for all ages.
I originally got this game close to 10 years ago, after many hiatuses I have finally completed the whole game.So to start off, do not be decieved by the title. This is not your classic frogger game, although similar in some aspects it is completely different. In this game, it’s your job to guide your pet frog through a series of puzzles to win a tournament. Even after 10 years I found the puzzles to be difficult and most of them I could not conmplete after one try. They are not impossible but the puzzles later in the game are really a challenge to complete. A lot of the time I would get so frustrated that I had to put the game down and come back to it later.In most of the puzzles/levels there are special capsules your frog can collect as a little bonus, there are also coin and time trials you can compete in even after you have finished the level if you want extra game play.You can also collect special costumes for your pet frog to help you beat the puzzles such as a ninja frog costume or a firefighter costume. Each costume comes with a special ability that it can do to help you reach the end Or even special areas in the level.There are also mini side puzzles that can help you unlock extra health, costumes, and coins. There is at least one in each area so if you’re low on coins its easy to obtain them.Besides puzzles, you follow along a riveting tale about friendship, betrayals, and family. I will say, after such a large build up I was a little disappointed with the ending but.
It’s been a while since I’ve played this game, but I do remember loving it. The graphics were very well done, I enjoyed the story line, and the mini games were okay, although sometimes a bit annoying. There is quite a bit of content and plenty of secrets to keep an eye out for. This title was way too unnoticed, and more people definitely should have the chance to enjoy it as much as I did.
