Loved this game as a child…. only thing thats bad is now i have to relearn all the moves argh!
Excellent game is in good condition!
No age limit for this game…the older men are still hooked on the old fashion games. Loved it
I bought this game used a couple of years ago ….. I’m not quite sure why these guys are charging [their price] though. In this game its cool cause they do all the normal punches, kicks, and combos of normal fighting games but then they all also have weapons such as swords, axes, spikey balls on a chain, etc. This game is tons of fun for years and even though I own an XBOX and a couple games for it I still place Mace occaisionally.
For what it is, Mace the Dark Age is very enjoyable and rather unique for its time. It falls somewhere among Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct and Dark Rift, and can be just as fun among friends (especially those who remember playing the arcade version back in the 90’s) as modern gen games, even if clearly a step below what came after. The controls are customizable, its characters are unique to each other, the fight stages are 3d with different levels and damage areas (like water and lava that affect players accordingly), and the high/low/mid choices between your main attacks make for a much more skilled combat compared to games that’re highly combo memorization based. Its clearly nothing amazing if you compare it to fighting games from even the ps2 and up era like DBZ Tenkaichi 3, or Soul Calibur 2 that take 3D environments and skilled combat to heart, but it has perks over even some newer titles that lack in at least one of these two areas, and does everything that I’d ask a fighting game to do. Graphically, even the N64 port (althotho considerably downgraded from the arcade version) looks good for a 1997 release, and if someone offered me the $30 or so dollars I spent to get it, I wouldn’t wanna part with it.
This is a great game! The game play is intense, lots of spectacular moves that aren’t too hard to learn. The graphics are really well done and there are lots of arenas to fight in, making the game interesting. It’s not the best fighting game, but it’s really good and I recommend it to anyone that enjoys fighting games.
