This game is a lot of fun. I am a big fan of Harvest Moon games and when I saw this, I had to get it. it is easy to play, nice walkthrough and much of what I remember a Harvest Moon game to be.
I love Harvest Moon. Mainly the Rune Factory series, but I still adore the traditional Harvest Moon’s too. This one is no different. I was very excited that not only can you decide your gender in this one, you can customize yourself down to skin tone, eye color, eye type, face type, hair color, hairstyle and can pick between two starting outfits. Which is new and super neat.I am however disappointed with the lackluster bachelors in this game. Allen and Neil are jerks, and I don’t care if they have some kind of sad childhood story, they’re jerks. Neil is more acceptable but even at a green heart, Allen is an A-hole. Soseki treats you like a kid. Rod acts like a kid. And Sanjay and Amir look really feminine. I’m going to marry Sanjay more than likely. But I just feel that male players got a better deal when it came to marriage candidates. A chefish girl (Felicity), a magician (Michelle), blacksmith (Iroha), a tailor/fashion designer (Yuri), the Witch Princess, and a super upbeat mail carrier (Tina). Even the ‘quiet, i don’t want to talk’ types are kind. Instead of just being jerks. And the Garden Tour thing sucks! I can’t wait till I’m done with the Restoration Plan 4, because I will never ever do another.
Honestly I’ve been a fan of Harvest Moon since the N64 era… so a long time haha! This has not been a disappointment at all thus far. The game is very fun, the "dating" system was always one of my favorite things about the game and I’m happy that you get to continue that and have a lot of choices! The renovation of the town is okay, I mean it can get annoying sometimes having go scavenge stuff to be able to unlock more villagers and festivals, but it’s okay, I have the patience for it.The one thing I would change is the "garden tours"… honestly they seem stupid and no matter what I try I can’t get a good score. :/ Even after looking up the instructions online I still don’t get the point, so I’m just not going to bother with it anymore, honestly! I’m just glad they didn’t make it a vital part of the game.
Just got this game last week and I’m loving it so far because it’s like the original to me with the extra bonus of character customization. The only thing I don’t like is having to wait a while to get the tools I need to have a fully functioning farm. I have the money but the game won’t allow to progress until it says so. But maybe I’m just impatient.
I’ve always been a huge fan of the Harvest Moon series, and this has got to be one of my favorite ones yet! There are so many things going on simultaneously that you have to get done, I love feeling like there’s not enough time in a day to do everything I’d like to, so prioritizing is key. From what I’ve written so far, I take it it’s easy to gather I was not the biggest fan of Animal Parade’s heavily drawn out game-hours that seemed to never end. I love the broader range of character appearance personalization that this HM game allows. And I love the addition of the Travel Agency!I always take my 3DS along for the ride wherever I go, to pick up streetpass data or when I’m somewhere where I need to kill some time. This is one of those games that I really enjoy having for the latter.
This is such a fun game! It keeps me entertained for so long and I never get sick of it.
I prefer this one out of the other 3ds harvest moons. Its got better quality and just is as close to the Wii versions as they can get. I will always favor the Wii Harvest Moons over the 3ds though. But this is a great one I recommend this game over the other versions for this system.
I specifically wanted to buy a 3DS HM game and I waited for this one to come out. It was just what I wanted and expected. It’s very fun to play, though it does start out a little slow. If you’re used to HM games though, you probably won’t mind this. Just know that you will have to be very careful to build up your health and RP’s otherwise you will lose your hard-earned coins. The insect-catching aspect has greatly improved now as well, it isn’t so difficult or random as it was in Tale of Two Cities. Definitely my favorite HM so far.
Hardcore farming.
This is the second game I bought with my 3DS. I had played one other Harvest Moon in the past and liked it so when I saw this one had pretty good reviews I wanted to give it a try. Overall I was really pleased, I played it for almost 5 months and still haven’t unlocked everything I want to but I needed a change of pace for awhile so I haven’t played it much recently.GOOD -*The characters are great and diverse and story line is wonderful. They don’t open up too much too soon so you don’t feel bogged down with too much to do too early.*Music is repetitive but I didn’t find myself getting annoyed with it since it changes depending on your surroundings*SOOO much to unlock. Even after you have “beaten the game”, if you want to decorate the town or fill your closet then go for it!*A large farm allows you to grow so many different things so you can take any direction you want.*My favorite part about the game was probably the cooking. I did that the most to make money. I would wait till the end of the month when I had hundreds of ingredients and then have a “baking” day.BAD*I agree with some on here that the cutscenes get annoying since you can’t go through them. Also why do I have to watch my dog take out my cows EVERY day??* Making friends and keeping them is difficult. You would have to devote a LOT of time to giving presents to make everyone happy. It didn’t concern me too much though besides my love interest ;)*It was hard to run a farm with animals AND crops. The animals are ve.
