Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories delivers an entirely new adventure and sets the stage for Kingdom Hearts II. Sora wanders into a castle where he and his companions, Donald and Goofy, realize their magic and skills, earned in the first game, have been completely stripped away. Sora must traverse the castle on his own this time. Donald and Goofy must stay behind, but they’ll accommodate Sora during battles as special attack “cards.”. It’s up to players to battle enemies to collect cards that’ll unlock doors to the next part of the map.

While I’ve had the pleasure of playing abit of the original Kingdom Hearts game, it wasn’t until I played Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories that I actually took any interest in the series. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a strong supporter of both Square-Enix and Disney. It was just, at first sight, Kingdom Hearts didn’t quite gel with me. So, recently, I go into my local videogame store around payday looking for me a portable RPG to play. Sadly, the Nintendo DS nor the PSP didn’t have any games that I hadn’t already played so I took a look at the Gameboy Advance section. While there were other games I wanted to play, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories won out in the end. I don’t know whether it was outstanding boxart, the fact that the store clerk told me it was an excellent game, or the fact that Donald and Goofy appealed to my inner child…the more I looked at the game, the more I wanted it.Upon booting up the game, I could tell from the opening intro FMV cutscene that production values were definitely high on this game. I was simply amazed that, despite its’ technical limitations, the system was able to do it at all….but it was. The game itself, although changed into more of a card-battle type action-RPG, was a deeply challenging one that felt like I was playing the console game. From what I’ve heard, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is more of a recap of the first game but with a different story. You see, in this story, Sora journeys through Castle Oblivion looking for his fr.
I got this game yesterday and ive already played it for four hours. The battle system in this game is unique, but even though it is different, it is still very fun. I own all of the final fantasy games and if this were one, it would definitely be my favorite.
The only problem I ran into with this game is that it’s incredibly difficult – if not impossible – to progress without the bumpers. I remember playing the game when I was thirteen and adoring it, so I decided to get it again. However, since I got my DSL second hand from a friend, this was how I discovered that the L&R bumpers don’t work, making it impossible to progress in the game. I managed to get passed the tutorial levels because when I purchased it, there was a save file passed the training levels. But I’m stuck on Captain Hook now who requires a lot of combo breakers that I just don’t have. So I reset and went to Beast’s Castle and I’m having trouble with the Heartless in the area. And I can’t even move onto 100 Acre Wood because you need the L bumper to call Pooh. So, either way, I’m stuck. And I don’t want to buy a new DS because I’ve got no job – and it’s silly to upgrade since this game won’t work on an upgraded DS. =/Just a heads up, I heard from the guy at Gamestop that the bumpers wear out super quick, so if you want to play this game, I suggest making sure yours work first.
I’ve never played a Final Fantasy / Kingdom Hearts game before, but I became hooked on this game. I like role playing / adventure games as long as the action part and beating the “bosses” isn’t so hard that only video game freaks can win. It’s cute to fight alongside Disney characters. The story line is interesting but isn’t deep. I haven’t beat the game yet, but I’m definitely motivated to finish it.I think this would be a good game for kids and fun loving adults alike because it’s not gory or sexist or vulgar. It’s challenging but not impossible to win.
Was well kept.
This is the first Kingdom Hearts game I have ever played, and it was a great experience. I loved this game so much that I reached the maximum level (Level 99).In this game you enter a castle where everything is controlled by cards. These cards have pictures of items, magic, and weapons on them. You can collect diffrent types of these item, magic, and weapon cards. You can even summon Disney characters, like Donald Duck, Goofy, and even cloud from Final Fantasy 7. Each card has a number from 0 to 9. Numbers 1- 9 change the strength of the cards and 0 should be used after an enemy uses a card. If your card is a lower number than the enemy’s card, your card will be under powered by the enem’s card. You can even chain together cards into combos. For example, if you put 3 thunder magic cards together, you get a move called thunderaga which damages all the enemies in the battle field. So this game has a lot of strategy.Kingdom Hearts has a great story line and amazing graphics.Graphics 5/5 *****Story 5/5 *****Battle System 5/5 *****Strategy 5/5 *****Replay 3/5 ***Length 4/5 ****The levels are very diverse and all have to do with a diffrent Disney movie. In conclusion, I am sure you will like Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, and will find it an enjoyable experience.
As a KH fan, I was leery when I first heard that this game would be released on GBA. It seemed like a good way to ruin a great series. I tried to be optimistic, though, because I wanted the story line continuation. Besides, those of us who are eagerly anticipating KH2 need a teaser to last us another year, right?I’m halfway through the game, and I must say, I’m impressed. The short video clip at the beginning is incredible for a handheld, and set the rest of the game up as a positive experience. There are more of these short clips in the game, and they really enriched the story line for me and almost made me forget I was playing a GBA. The game play graphics are good, too.I was worried about the battle system, and it did take some getting used to. I loved the hack and slash, realtime system from the first game (even if the faulty camera made it maddeningly difficult at times) and I was glad to realize that this feature has not been completely lost in the new game. If you wish to play it this way, you can build up your CP and stock mostly keyblade attack cards, then hack and slash just like in the original. If not, you can up your strategy by stocking magic cards and other special cards and put them together to create powerful chain attacks. A word of advice, though. When building a deck, be careful about the order you place your cards in and the numbers on the cards you place. Lower cards will be broken a lot even in small battles when you get higher up in the cas.
A very fun game that is challenging but not to challenging.
Works great no problems
I couldn’t put it down!!! Rarely do I see a game through to the end but I did this one. It has such high replay value. I finished it and picked up the first Kingdome Hearts game for PS2. The graphics are good and the gameplay is downright fantastic. I loved being able to fight and use cards in the battle as well. It sounds confusing but it really is not hard to pick up. I high recommend this game!!! I am still looking for another game that is just as good.
