In Pokemon Conquest, players take on the role of a young Warlord who is linked with a Pokemon. Together, they must set out to recruit Warrior allies to strengthen their growing kingdom. Along their journey, players will encounter a variety of Pokemon, as well as Warriors and Warlords inspired by the Japanese feudal era. The game contains nearly 200 Pokemon, including many from the recent Pokemon Black Version and Pokemon White Version games, which have sold more than 4 million copies combined in the United States. As the battlefield unfolds in Pokemon Conquest, players must choose the correct Pokemon type to inflict maximum damage on their opponents. In the turn-based skirmishes, players choose different tactics for intense six-on-six battles, and battle conditions can change on every turn, keeping players on their toes in anticipation of what will happen next.

When I first heard of this game I wondered if it would be as enjoyable as I hoped. It met my expectations and then some. The game is simple and addicting, you find you just don’t want to stop. There are Pokemon from different generations, which I loved and when you beat the game it’s not over it offers mini-games you can unlock. The only issue I had is I wish you could have caught Pokemon a bit sooner, granted it was earlier on but not as early as I would have liked but since you had so many trainers with so many different Pokemon you could recruit, it made up for it. The battle style is easy to learn and just overall it’s a brilliant game, highly recommend.

I haven’t yet played this game myself as I had ordered it for my husband. But I have watched him play it and I can tell you, it is one fun looking game. In his words, one awesome pokemon strategy rpg game! And once he’s done playing, you betcha I’m going to be playing it. I do wish there was more then one save file on it.
Pokemon conquest is a brand new way to play Pokemon, it has the well-known Pokemon we know and love combined with the mostly unknown strategy of the Japanese franchise Nobunaga’s Ambition. Hours and Hours of gameplay with many pokemon to meet and develop. Highly recommended for fans of the Pokemon and Fire Emblem franchises.
If you like Poke’mon and Strategy RPGs (e.g., Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics) then you will love this game. The chess-like environment will excite your inner tactician, and the inclusion of various Poke’mon and their moves is just enough customization to make the game feel fresh and exciting. I was a bit wary of this departure from Poke’mon’s standard monster collection RPG style, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this game. Even after beating it thoroughly, I still pick it up to play again when my other games start to bore me.
This definitely isn’t like the classic format of Pokemon games where you walk around from town to town trying to battle against gym leaders. In this game you go to different kingdoms to try and conquer. When you start off in each kingdom, you can move a certain amount of times total, and you take turns with your opponent. You try to get to them and attack, lowering their HP so you can win. If you win then you take over their kingdom and can recruit those Pokemon and warriors to help you. It’s different but it’s still fun and best part of all.. Still full of cute Pokemon!
Purchased for husband."Different than the typical Pokémon games. It has a medieval- Japanese feel to it, because you team up to take down castles. Horribly, sickeningly addictive. Love this game, a great addition to the long pokemon franchise. I love the concept of linking pokemon the Conquest series, with historical figures playing key roles and battling it out to conquer the world, or save the world from being conquered, and the gameplay is simple enough. For inexperienced gamers like me, I found it helps to do some background research online to understand the finer points of the mechanics of the game, especially in the later mini-episodes, as the game goes up to a higher level.
