I originally played this game as a download on my cell phone and was hopelessly addicted to it. So when I got my Nintendo DS….I thought I’d get the DS version and try it out. It is definitely a keeper. I have now tried Cake Mania 2 and 3 as well….and this one is still a winner. The cake/frosting/icing buttons are nice and big. It is easy to distinguish the shapes on the layer cakes. And my personal FAVORITE thing about this game……it saves your final score!!!! I really wish the other 2 games did that. I like the challenge of trying to beat my previous scores. At 1st, I wasn’t too crazy about the fact that the screen has to scroll over to get to the place for the toppers…but I got used to it and now it doesn’t bug me so much. It is definitely a time management game worth having. If it actually SAVED your progress on each level so you could quit and turn off your DS and then get back to it the following day….I would have given the game 5 stars. As it is….to get a really high score, you have to play the game all the way through.
I have played this game online and really liked it. When I found out that it was available for the DS, I bought it straight away. I have beaten the game several times in the 3 months I have had it, yet something keeps bringing me back! Cake Mania lends itself well to the DS touch screen, and frankly, it is very addicting! Even my husband, who has a short attentions span when it comes to video games, and prefers the shoot-em-up variety anyways, has had a blast with this one. Wonderful for kids and adults alike. The graphics are not especially pristine – it is a simple game after all, but the replay-ability definitely makes it worthwhile. Enjoy!
Like most I started to play this game on-line and I loved it. When I saw that it came out on the DS I was so excited. It is the same as the PC version except smaller. I think that makes it a bit easier because you aren’t chasing after buttons with a mouse, just pressing the screen with your stylus. The only thing I don’t like in this version is that the frosting buttons can be hard to press because the bakery is too big to fit on the screen so to get to one side the shot has to scan over. But if you like these games cake mania is great!

I love games where you run a hectic restaurant. They only thing i wish you could do is buy a helper like in most cafe games you can download to your phone. Other than that it’s fun and i would recommend it.
I have both the first and second Cake Mania’s and I love them both. One of my friends was playing her daughter’s game and became addicted. She handed me her DS and told me to try it….I was hooked! I went to the store that night and bought Cake Mania. When I saw they had a second one I bought it immediately, and it’s even better than the first. Totally worth the $$, I hope they make a Cake Mania 3!! I read somewhere they are making a 3rd, if they do I’ll buy that one too!
It plays just like the original computer game. It looks like the original graphics. I wish the screen were larger or that the cakes showed up on the top screen because it’s sometimes hard to see which one is ordered.

I was hesitant about starting the Cake Mania series because I didn’t think anything could top Diner Dash. I was frustrated at first with Cake Mania because I couldn’t get Jill to walk around the bakery fast enough (I literally had it ready to trade-in). Once I finally figured out how to upgrade Jill I was hooked! I’ve played all 3 Cake Mania’s on DS and while Cake Mania 3 is my favorite, I highly recommend all of them!
I got this game yesterday, and i like it a lot, is very fun , game dificulty grows ith the time, but is very interesting you will love it, I travel a lot, and a wait time at the airports so it will help me to relax. I really recomend this game
