Being a PlayStation 1 owner was great for those of us who grew up loving to play
I love this game because of back then, wrestling was all we talked about in high school other than Buffy. I mean this is the only game where eddie guerrero gives Chyna roses, wish they could have made the characters walk all the way to the ring like on attitude, now that would’ve been awesome. This is the only wrestling game where the season is unlimited, you can keep going and the excitement will never end. I love the stuff that happens backstage, I always tell my friends, don’t put down your controller because you never know when you’ll have to fight. Love games that keep me on my toes, but truly Eddie and Chyna are the reason I love this game. Rest in peace, and the new matches are awesome, they even have beauty contests now, wtf I know. Miss the attitude Era but I’ll have Chynas memory and she will be Queen of the ring and win the royal rumble
Wonderful product
The later Smackdown games are great, they introduced a lot of new features. But this game’s simplicity and just straight up fun makes it the best in the series. It paved the way. Childhood memories. Haven’t popped this in yet, but I hope it works. It’s about. to go. DOWN! lol
No case but not scratched works great
Everything was very nice
definitely one of the best games ive ever played and certainly better than any other wrestling offering yet! the shher variety in the matches you can have is astounding, just imagine the u8ndertaker vs. lita in a tlc match or the ’98 KOR hell in a cell relived. there are about 10000 possible matches on offer, including all of the grapplers and with everyone being sufficiently different from the other you’ll want to try them allthe career mode is pretty good but suffers from some quite steep loading times along with the rest of the game which is the main problem. lets say we want to make a ppv, theres 10 matches and each one needs about 2 minutes of loading to create, along with the actual choosing of the bouts this can take upto an hour to do. it can also be pretty frustrating when you dont get the audience rating you were after or if a surprise belt change messes up your career mode. this is only a inor quibble though and it shouldnt changer your view of this excellent game.this is wwf at its very best
I’ve been a big fan of wrestling for pretty much all of my life, but I’d never really played any of the games. Well, I was over at my new friends house one day, and her brother was playing this game. I asked him if Trish was on this, and he said she was. Then I asked if I could play, and he said yeah. After this, we ended up becoming really good friends. I went out and bought this game a few months later, and it was always in my Playstation. Now, onto the game. Sure, the graphics aren’t as good as the SmackDown! games for PS2, but for Playstation, they’re pretty damn good. You’ve got tons of Exhibition mode matches. Singles, tag team, hardcore, anywhere fall, handicap, King of the Ring, Royal Rumble, survivor, and special matches. The special matches are TLC, Casket, Cage, Hell in a Cell, I Quit, Iron Man, Ladder, Special Referee, Table, and Slobber Knocker. More then enough to keep you occupied for hours! You can also have title defenses in Exhibition, something you can’t do in the next three :( Also, there are over 50 superstars to choose from! There’s also Season mode, where you can go through the WWE, and win matches, unlocking new superstars, create parts, and more along the way. Then there’s Create mode, one of the best things about the game! There’s Create a Pay-Per-View, where you can host your own 10 match pay-per-view! The improved Create a Superstar mode gives you complete control over how you want your superstar to look, and is one of the best things about the game..
I think WWF Smackdown 2: Know Your Role for the original Playstation console was a really good, influential game. Oh okay, if you want to argue that the first Smackdown game was MORE influential, I can’t disagree. Know Your Role is almost identical to the previous Smackdown in every single way, but with more matches and wrestlers to choose from. Normally I *hate* when a game company releases a new game with only extremely minor improvements, but I’ll cut the game company some slack in this case, because there were only two Smackdown games around back then.I can think of another reason to own this game- back when it was released in November 2000, the WWE was at the VERY top of its game in terms of popularity and TV ratings. After this game came out, the WWE began to lose its momentum and the ratings subsequently dropped, thanks mainly to the writing team not knowing which direction to take certain wrestlers and their storylines. People started getting sick of wrestling altogether, I guess. So owning Know Your Role in the year 2007 (the year I’m writing this review) can take you back to a time when the WWE seemed unstoppable. When this game came out in the year 2000, we only had a few other 3-dimensional wrestling games available for the Playstation at the time. One of them was called War Zone, and the other was, I believe, called Attitude. Oh, and of course we had the original Smackdown. Those were all groundbreaking games, but Know Your Role offered something War Zone and At.
enjoyed playing, very humorous and fun to compete with other players
