definitely one of the best games ive ever played and certainly better than any other wrestling offering yet! the shher variety in the matches you can have is astounding, just imagine the u8ndertaker vs. lita in a tlc match or the ’98 KOR hell in a cell relived. there are about 10000 possible matches on offer, including all of the grapplers and with everyone being sufficiently different from the other you’ll want to try them allthe career mode is pretty good but suffers from some quite steep loading times along with the rest of the game which is the main problem. lets say we want to make a ppv, theres 10 matches and each one needs about 2 minutes of loading to create, along with the actual choosing of the bouts this can take upto an hour to do. it can also be pretty frustrating when you dont get the audience rating you were after or if a surprise belt change messes up your career mode. this is only a inor quibble though and it shouldnt changer your view of this excellent game.this is wwf at its very best
From what i’ve heard and seen, this is going to be if not the best wrestling video game yet. The graphics are as smooth as the first and the controls are still as easy. New features which all will be looking forward to are the table matches, ladder matches, and of course the Hell In A Cell match. This should be a great game.
There are many ways THQ has improved Smackdown 2 from the original Smackdown. I greatly enjoyed the new TLC and Table matches, not to mention my favorite, the Hell in the Cell. I do wish that THQ would incorporate some of the ideas that Acclaim had in their original WWF games. I think if you took the features of Acclaim’s WWF Attitude, and THQ’s Smackdown 2, and combined them, you would have an excellent Wrestling game. For the "DIE HARD" WWF fan such as myself, aspects such as the entrances, and the wrestler’s authentic gestures are very important. If they decide to come out with a Smackdown 3, I think they should concentrate a bit more on improving the entrances, and the oh so important Create a wrestler mode. Find a way to extend the entrances, and throw in the "true" fireworks, and the game will explode! Good job this time around, but there is still plenty of room for improvement!
This game is the best wretsling sim that I have ever played.I have the unfinished version that the games magazines got and I cant wait to get my hands on the finished version. Create a wretsler is mutch better this time round and you can also create a taunt, create a stable, and create a manager. The hell in the cell matches are one of favourite matches and you can even throw your opponent through the roof of the cage. The season mode is extremely better and the game features all the WWF superstars to date including the goodfather and RTC and the radicals. This game tottaly rocks.
When I played Smackdown 1 I was pretty sure that it was wrestling heaven. I have been proven wrong…..Smackdown 2 is not simply another wrestling game it’s a game that will appeal to all PSX fans not just WWF fans. The game perfectly incoperates all the sights and sounds of the WWF without losing any of the fun and exitement. With a coice of well over 50 characters and a truck-load of different types of matches this will keep you playing for hours.Whether it’s Undertaker in ‘Hell in a Cell’ or winning the ‘Royal Rumble’ with the Rock, its total perfection. The revolutionary create a wrestler mode allows you to mould your human wrecking machine to whatever specification you might have, whether it’s an enormous head, fire pants or an injured right knee, anything is possible. If you even remotely like wrestling or beat-em-up’s BUY this game, you won’t regret it.
Since this game was made for the ps1 its limitations shows how good the game was. The most fun thing I like about this game is picking up the furniture and throwing them like they’re made of paper. Sure the recent wrestling games are realistic but that takes the humor and fun out of it. I love these kinds of thing. I also like the fact that you can fight back stage and outside, and in the boiler room the latest Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 can’t do that. It’s all inside or around the ring which is kind of a let down in my opinion. this game had both good ring fighting and good outside fighting.think of it this way this game is the father of Smackdown vs. Raw 2010. If Smackdown 2 wasn’t a good game then Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 would never be released.thoughts:smackdown vs. Raw should try to learn its roots and try to bring back the hardcore outdoor fighting that they once had. Interact with the environment already!
Everything was very nice
Arrived WAY earlier than the expected delivery date and the disk is in good shape, not perfect on the bottom but the CD works so its fine by me
I was definitely pleased with my order.
This game has the same graphics as the original but has a bigger match list. Hell In The Cell is on the card, TLC, and the Casket match which is lackluster. Season mode is done a little better, but would be greatly enhanced later on in the series. The game looks good, the controls remain the same, which is awesome. This is actually the last platinum game for the PS1 before the PS2, which would actually release one month after this. But congrats to WWE, the games keep getting better.
