This is the best racing game on the N64 platform. The physics are excellent. (Which I cannot say about Gran Turismo) The only problem I had is doing six 5 lap races for one cup is too long and you can’t split the races up. Oh and the graphics are extremely good especially considering it does not use the expansion pack.
Clean and in great condition, arrived in a sleek dust-free plastic envelope, fantastic :)
This is a tough racing game. It’s a grindfest but winning races feels very rewarding. I tend to race the beginner circuits repeatedly to earn more points to unlock better cars and teams. I really liked the visuals for such an old game.

I only recently started reaching back into the N64 library as I was a Playstation kid in the era those two titans were at war with each other. I’ve found quite a few N64 games that I genuinely like, but most of the racing games have a heavy fog or sudden sharp turns to avoid popup in the distance. World Driver Championship however looks, to me, like a Playstation game running from a cartridge. The graphics are very nice, the rendering distance is amazing and popup, if there is any, isn’t anything I’ve noticed. This game is fun and looks good.

First you need a memory pack or you have to start from scratch each time. There is no damage, but the cars feature a heavy sliding feel that the real street based GT cars of the mid 90’s must have had. The tracks are all of the made up racing in the streets variety, as opposed to real racetracks, but the cars are based on real racers. If you actually follow GT racing all your favorites form the mid 90’s are here. Porsches are Rages and Vipers are Venom’s, but if you know what a Lister Storm is, then you’ll figure it out. At the lower levels there is a Stallion that bears a strong resemblance to a Salean Mustang with a team owner that is not to far from a surfer dude version of Tim Allen. Nationalities are all wrong though; the Lotus clones are Italian for crying out loud.
Game works great
