A battle of gigantic proportions is looming in the neon underground of New York City. The army of the night numbers 100,000 strong, and tonight they’re all after the “Warriors”- a street gang wrongly accused of killing a rival gang leader. The Warriors must make their way from one end of New York to their turf on the other side of the city. All that stands between The Warriors and their survival are 20 miles and thousands of street gang members. The combat system incorporates combos, a rage mode, and trash-talking snap attacks. The army of gangs owns the streets and there’s no turning back, The Warriors must fight for their lives and learn the meaning of loyalty as danger and uncertainty emerges from the city night. here

When I originally heard there would be a game based on the Warriors movie, I was skeptical. When I heard Rock Star was doing it, I was optimistic. When I got the game, I wasn’t dissapointed at all.Rock Star, with their penchant for aggressive games stemming from the Grand Theft Auto series, is the perfect fit as the developer. The Warriors game delivers exactly what one would hope. Lots of violence, but none of it just laid out randomely (of course, that’s not stopping the player the from just going out and starting something). The story mode is fun, with well laid out plots and missions. And while on the mission, you can easily let yourself get sidetracked by exploring the area or a random mugging to fill your pockets without hurting your mission objectives at all. It is this semi-lax structure that add a whole lot to the game.In between story mode missions, you can go out onto your own turf and do whatever you please, including some shorter missions. A Rumble mode allows you to either fight one on one, or one gang against another in a random match. The game itself is much like the GTA series. Wide open areas are predominant, so you won’t feel like your closed in all the time. It also has been made the same way: a large focus has gone into the missions, gameplay, area and small details while graphics are a secondary concern. Don’t expect anything like Soul Calibur 3 or Final Fantasy X graphics wise. The controls are simple, and there are no large amount of combinations to perfo.
It’s great fast delivery
I remember when The Warriors video game was announced, I was literally counting the days to its release. I grew up in the 80’s and “The Warriors” was one of those movies that would appear on “The Movie Channel” on a fairly regular basis. To this day, I can still recite some of the movie’s more famous lines. The movie was pure escapism, especially for young suburban teens. What makes the game so great is the first half of it takes place BEFORE Sirus’s infamous speech that lead to his demise. You learn (I presume made up by the minds of Rockstar) how some of the more famous characters became Warriors in the first place. This portion of the game plays like a cross between “Manhunt” and “Grand Theft Auto” – i.e. mission based, free flowing environments. Though, the graphics in The Warriors are not up to snuff, the game play is anything but second rate. The missions themselves are very entertaining as well. The second half of the game is a replay of the movie from start to finish – it’s a nice tribute, and you know how its going to turn out – with the notable exception of the finale – it doesn’t end nearly as ceremoniously as the movie, but it’s fun just the same.Solid gameplay, average graphics – Rockstar digs deep to strike a creative vein from start to finish.Very worthwhile effort.
Well, it was so good that. My son said that it was the best gift ever. Ya right son! But it satisfied him to the max… long hours of play= satisfaction!… LOL
I freaking love this game as well as the movie, so it does my heart good to see the game arrive in good condition and playable.

For the most part, I tend to be skeptical of video game renditions of movies. All too often, the games have been altered to such an extent that they serve no real connection to the film, or the game just plain sucks. However, The Warriors is an exception to this rule. In plain English, you need to play this game. This game is phenomenal in that it manages to keep itself true to the 1979 Walter Hill cult classic while still being a very fun, top-notch video game. For all you Grand Theft Auto fans…here’s GTA: Coney Island ’79!If you’ve seen the movie, then you pretty much know how the game itself will end. But…you will not know how the game BEGINS! Only five missions in this game are directly from the movie. The first 10 or so missions are leading up to Cyrus’s big meeting in the Bronx. In addition, as you play you can unlock flashback missions which detail the player as to how Cleon, Ajax, Swan, Snow and company became affiliated with the bad boys from Coney. Playing the game is almost like watching a prequel to the movie. If you are a die-hard fan of the movie, stop reading this review and just buy the damn game already! All the gangs from the film are here, including the Rogues, Riffs, Baseball Furies and Lizzies. The movie’s soundtrack is also featured throughout the gameplay as well…as are quotes from the movie itself. The A.I. is among the best I have ever seen in a game. We have tons of explosive all-out gang brawls with 10 or more people going at it, with weapons gal.
GREAT GAME.
