came quickly and works well
A good Mortal Kombat game for Sega Mortal Kombat Ultimate 3.
like it.
works
The best ported Version of any mortal kombat game for the Genesis. Mortal Kombat 2 aside from trilogy is for the most part my favorite but they pushed the 16-BIT powerplant to the test. Excellent sound, voice, graphics, and gameplay its all here. That’s one thing I will say about mortal kombat games for the Genesis, some were great in many ways but always lacked something important like good sound and clear graphics, this version has all of that. Mind you its not exactly like the arcade and doesn’t have the exact same sound and music but its very very close. The game play is really cool and with the long list of playable characters and features it offers insane re-playability. If your looking for a good mortal kombat game or just a good game period then this one is the title for you.
As most people know Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was the last 2-d Mortal Kombat to come out of the 16bit era (Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo) But it does not disappoint. I have all four Mortal Kombat games available on Sega Genesis. I’ve had the first three for quite some time before managing to finally find UMK3, and I have been having fun with it since. All it really comes down too is that is MK3 but with extra characters, some new levels, combos, and even the everlasting glitches to appear every now and then. In my opinion UMK3 on the Genesis was my favorite port of the game, but the Sega version will have its downfalls especially being the arcade version is incredible. Some of the downfalls include: Some fatalities changed, animalities are taken out and replaced with brutalities, game will crash but not too often, some combos that can be done in the arcade version (12-20 hits, more then 100% damage) are hard and if not in way impossible to pull off in this port. Mostly from the fact your using a d-pad instead of the famous joystick, system slow done compared to the arcade version, and plain just controller in general. Im not saying they cant be done but i find it very hard to do sometimes. Now on to the computer, it is somewhat harder to beat compared to MK3 but still not all that hard. They added another tower on this with one with a harder difficulty level, but the experienced player can make it through pretty easy. Now about the sound quality of the game, the levels music.
When I was little i love this game, but when our super nintendo got jacked my hart sank, but im 13 now and i decided im going to get a sega genesis i meen who needs a x box or a game cube or a playsation 2(which i like to) so i got a sega genesis and bought ultimate mortal kombat 3 which is mortal kombat 3 with a whole bunch of characters….Well i love it(the fatalities are awesome……………………Remember stick with the ariginal………
This game is pretty much the same as MK3 only with more characters. I really can’t say anything that other people do not already know. That MK kicks a**, it always will, and that any MK fan should buy this game.
i agree that it didnt live up to the arcade version, but i kept in mind that the arcades era had far surpassed the 16 bit realm when this game came out, saying that i think the genesis did a decent job carrying umk3 and i am happy with it, i am a sega genesis collector myself as well as a mortal kombat collector as well, while its no MKII for 32x it was a enjoyable game and not a bad arcade to genesis port considering what year it was ported
Mortal Kombat is great for pushing the envelope for blood and violence in video games. If you don’t already own MKIII then pick up Ultimate MKIII. MKIII is a great game on its own, but this upgrade just adds to its greatness. My brother and I saved up money and bought MKIII the day it came out. It was surpassed our expectations. MKII had great characters, combos, and fatalities. MKIII had more characters, more combos, and even had more types of end moves (e.g. Babalities, Animalities). Ultimate just adds to the foundation that MKIII has already built.
