You can go for classics like Sonic, NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat, or go explore more indie releases. Here are some of the classic games we suggest getting with your console:

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG

The game features an anthropomorphic hedgehog named Sonic in a quest to defeat Dr. Robotnik, a scientist who has imprisoned animals in robots and stolen the powerful Chaos Emeralds. The gameplay involves collecting rings as a form of health, and a simple control scheme, with jumping and attacking controlled by a single button.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2

It is the second main entry in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and introduced Sonic’s sidekick, Miles “Tails” Prower, controllable by a second player. In the story, Sonic and Tails must stop series antagonist Dr. Ivo Robotnik from stealing the Chaos Emeralds to power his space station, the Death Egg.

MORTAL KOMBAT 2

The game’s plot continues from the first game, featuring the next Mortal Kombat tournament set in the otherdimensional realm of Outworld, with the Outworld and Earthrealm representatives fighting each other on their way to challenge the evil emperor Shao Kahn. Also, Mortal Kombat 2 introduced more varied finishing moves (including several Fatalities per character) and new finishers.

NBA JAM

This video game based on the National Basketball Association found popularity with its photorealistic digitized graphics, over-the-top presentation and exaggerated style of two-on-two basketball play. NBA Jam allowed players to jump many times above their own height, make slam dunks that defy human capabilities, and freely shove or elbow opponents out of the way and get flagged. It also featured a variety of secret characters, as well as the ability to track player records and statistics between play sessions.

DISNEY’S ALADDIN

Disney’s Aladdin is a 2D side-scrolling video game in which the player controls Aladdin and his monkey Abu through several stages taking place throughout the city of Agrabah. With each stage defeat foes by jumping on them, throwing apples to avoid obstacles, collect gems to turn them into health and extra points and more.

StreetFighter 2

The classic game that revived the action fighting game genre, Streetfighter 2 is all about competitive 1v1 arena battles. The game features 8 playable characters from all around the world, each with their unique set of special moves and fighting style.

Jurassic Park

Enter an amazing world filled to the brim with dinosaurs and danger! Taking the role of paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant, you will be tasked with travelling through the seven areas of Isla Nublar while using your arsenal of weapons to keep yourself free from the claws of the ancient reptiles who are now free from their enclosures. You can also play as a fearsome Velociraptor, chasing Grant down and trying to prevent him from reaching the Visitor’s Center for added fun!

• The console’s internal hardware was a mashup of an Apple Macintosh and a Game Boy.
• Even though official development of the console has stopped, enthusiasts still make games for the system.

• The console actually had 2 names. While in the rest of the world it was known as Mega Drive, in the USA it was renamed Genesis as a symbolic title representing a new era of Sega in the American marketplace.
