Fun like the original N64 version was, also very challenging. Easy to beat the game, but difficult to find all the secrets. Docked 2 stars because it has no online multiplayer battle mode, but added 1 back because it is StarFox haha. Using the gamepad is difficult at first but I believe adds to the game and was a necessary evil.
Unless you want to get all the secrets, the entire main game is only a couple hours long, is it a good game? Yes but its so short it originally wasn’t worth 60 bucks, its 5 dollars brand new now, and thats a good price Update: The price of this game has gone from 5 dollars brand new to 60 because of scalpers. But atleast it’s on sale! That’s how much they’re willing to screw your wallet over.
Great game really enjoy every part of it, brought back a lot of memories from star fox 64. This game has a lot of similarities from star fox 64 and some new stuff added to it, so if you enjoyed it back in the 64 than you won’t have a problem with it on the WiiU. The only thing I really had and have heard a lot of complaints are the controls but a couple of hours into the game you will see yourself getting better at it but it will take some time to really fully enjoy the game, but it would’ve been nice if they would’ve given as an option to a regular control setting and than giving us this new settings as a Hard option to really bring out the truly experience of this game. On that I would recommend this game to anyone wanting to try something new and that really loves Star Fox.
Awesome game! Fun! Fun! Fun! Didn’t like the reverse axis controls at first but now that I’m used to it this is a highly entertaining game. Also sends me back to my childhood of Star Fox on SNES, Mich better graphics of course. I would recommend this game.
Great value
At first I hated the controls, but after 20 minutes I loved the controls. This game is a freaking blast! Also, this game is way different (and better) than Starfox 64 because the stages are only *based on* the N64 stages… but now each stage is so different (and longer) so I can barely even recognize the original stage. Plus it seems there are several all-new stages. But the most important thing is: this game is super duper fun, and an absolute blast!
Just like New!!!!
Controls take a minute to figure out but not nearly as bad as people make you think. If you like Star Fox 64 you will be happy with this purchase guaranteed.
As some one who loves practically every game platinum games puts development time into and some one who loves starfox I thought this had to be a win. The gamepad being the shooting aiming is really strange at first but only took me a couple levels to get the hang of. If you don’t mind spending 20 minutes learning some new controls then this won’t bother you.The game also includes star fox tower defense but I haven’t played that yet. I loaned this game to my brother a little while back and he’s loving it.Pros-Fun game once you learn how the wii U gamepad with the screen is how you aim (you can turn this off supposedly but I never bothered)-Has a weird coop singleplayer where one person aims and the other can drive. I liked it but I can see where people may get frustrated if the driver doesn’t realize the front of the plane is where the lasers come out.-Kept the cheesy linesCons-I miss the branching storyline like in 64. Alternate paths are in the game but not like the old school 64 ones.
Does enough to different itself from the game it’s based on, but keeps in line with what made the series great. And, most importantly, it’s fun.
