For this being the 3rd Prince of Pesia produced I prefer playing this one to any of the others. And incase anyone is wondering, yes this is the third game. The first was produced many many years ago and was only for very old computer (I beleive before the Windows operating system). Being as I was very young I have yet to beat it but was extatic when I found it in PoP the Sand of Time. Also, in Sands of Time the prince was very mild mannored and in the next one he is very angry. After being chased by the Dahaka for 10 years wouldn’t you become a little bitter? The music was also picked well for Warrior Within (though a little loud in places) since this game has much more of a dark tone and a little more violent I don’t think the music of Sand of Time would work very well for the mood of the new one. Now, Pop Warrior Within has it’s good points and draw backs as well. Having the free-form fighting style very a very nice change from the few things you could do in the pervious game, and switching between the two games I noticed how simple Sands of Time was. In Warrior Within, there are numerous different ways to attack and kill plus they got rid of the sequence where the prince puts his sword away after every fight. Instead the enemies are thrown throughout the game adding difficulty to the puzzles in some places. Also, the 3 difficulty settings adds time to the game play and difficulty when you replay it. Granted by the time you finish the games you’ve probably played t.
Prince of Persia : Warrior Within for the PS2 is a darker sequel to the original Prince of Persia game. Where the first game was light and almost musical in its fluid grace, this latest Persia game is dark, violent, and has throbbing heavy-guitar soundtrack. The hallmark of the original Prince of Persia game was its amazing motion and graphics. The prince would jump up ledges, run along walls, somersault, and all the while the banners would be blowing in the breeze, a cloak would be fluttering, torches would be flickering. It was really beautiful. In addition, Prince of Persia had a time system where you could go back or forward in time. This added a really interesting element to puzzles, where you had to figure out if “backing up” the time would help you solve the situation.Skip forward to this current release, Warrior Within. The prince is definitely dark and angry now. The levels are all much darker visually and in emotion. Monsters spew blood. Body parts come ripping off. The prince’s moves are angular, angry, full of power. He’s still solving puzzles and skipping through time, but it is with a dark stare. This game is rated M for MATURE and this is very apparent. It’s not the whore-slaying modern issues of Grand Theft Auto, but it’s definitely violent. It’s a game about rage and violence. It’s not something to get for the younger tykes. The sound is very well done, with the voice acting, additional noises, and the throbbing soundtrack. That being said, if hammering guitar an.
This game is awesome. The storyline is amazing and the gameplay is just like the previous game except there are more abilities like more stylish combat, attacking while running across a wall, the ability to slide down a curtain to a lower area, and being able to pick up any weapon either from a downed enemy or from a weapon rack. The game can also have an alternate ending. Athough the first time you play this game through,it might be a little confusing, where you have to travel back and forth through time, some might not find it very fun.Overall the gameplay is awesome, the music is great instead of just persian music it has a badass hardrock score, graphics are good as good as you would find on a playstation 2 game, what I liked about this game most was the environment/landscape such as vegetation filled gardens, palace ruins, courtyards, caves, and secret passageways.
A full action , fast paced puzzle game. The weapons are great. I especially love the pink flamingo weapon. How much more fun can you have than whacking the enemy with a lethal pink flamingo? It is great that the game kept most of the awesome aspects of the original yet added a vast amount more. If you liked the original at all you will love this game. Put your thinking caps on. This is a game for the quick minded gamer who loves a good challenge.
This game is what Tomb Raider is supposed to look like. The game mechanics…the controls… Felt the first was the best overall game. The second is twice as good, but everyone has gotten wise, and now the competition is growing. The developers have realised what adventure gamers really want!
First of all I wish to thank you, as a reader, for finding my preview helpful in the XBOX and the GameCube review section (You can check it out if you want to) . Now that I got my hands on the game and played it , I must say that Prince Of Persia:Warrior Within has lived up to the expectations, albeit with some difficulty. Let me briefly state why Prince of WW, though a great game on its own, falls below its predecessor in some aspects.First, the cons. In the preview, I did mention that the environment in Warrior Within would be the exact opposite of Sands of Time (SOT), and it is. But Ubisoft has taken one step further and encompassed nearly the entire game in a perpetual state of bleakness. Right from the onset, the story is grim but gritty. Somewhere deep down, you’d realise this will be an uncomfortable shift of play from the previous version. Sands of Time was an ethereal experience that didn’t force you to take the game too seriously. You enjoyed playing it, without actually feeling so. But in WW, you are constantly forced to ask just why the Prince is not the same likeable, naive guy we know. In WW, he appears self-centered, merciless almost paranoid of his safety and wouldn’t think twice of striking down anyone so long as it ensures his survival. This really makes you wonder whether to root for him or despise him. But you cannot ignore him. Because POP: WW has far more positive offerings than most other famous sequels in the market.Story:The story is very interesting.
Well done by the guys of Ubisoft, because the story is continued from the Sands of Time, but….BUT….the game is too dark, the prince is kind of slow, is toooooo much dificulty get the life upgrade, and if you dont get all the life upgrade you really do not finish the game.Anywahy is a fun game, is a sequel, it deserves 4 stars, is a good game, but is a pretty diferente style than Sands of Time, and of course from the best of the saga, THE TWO TRONES.
After playing Sands of Time, I had to get this one, and they are very different… Parents be advised that the rating on the game did go up, and that is because it is much more graphic (more blood and “beautiful” women wearing revealing clothing) and contains some profanity. The moves are a lot more advanced and technical in this game as well. It’s still a lot of fun to play, but it seems like you’re running around not sure what you’re suppose to be doing a lot more often in this one than in Sands of Time – which had a more linear storyline and an easy to follow plot.
The Good: Great graphics and audio, updated combat is fun and intuitive, story is evolved smoothly, longer campaign, unlockables, superb level designThe Bad: Difficulty is terribly unbalanced, could have used some more combat moves, more weapons would have been nice, recycled levels can get tediousThe main thing I don’t understand is why everyone hated the style of this game. I think it’s BETTER this way then it was in PoP 1. The dark and gory atmosphere better suits the story then the light hearted storybook style as the first. I also don’t understand why everyone hated the music! I thought the music was great and was some superb heavy metal and really got the mood going. This one has everything great about the first plus more. More weapons, more abilities, more puzzles, longer campaign, unlockables, it’s put together so well. There are more bad things in this then the first though but for some reason it doesn’t detract from this game being so great. The enemies in this game can take FOREVER to kill unless you have a more powerful weapon and due to this can lead to constant frustration and many deaths. The levels in this game are constantly recycled where you’ll do an area in the present the do it again in the past then LATER go through that area again. The level design, even though better and more intricate then that first, can make you lost very easily with no sense of direction. The gore in this game is awesome and slicing off heads and torsos couldn’t look any better. If.
This game is the best game i’ve ever played. The graphics are amazing, all of it looks like it’s from the cinematics. The game play is even better, the controls don’t lag. The story is really well written, it gives a chance for the persian prince to mature and grow along with the world he tries to save. So if you love action, amazing graphics and an intersting story line pick up this game but if don’t like said stuff then don’t pick up this game.
