Received the game in perfect condition.
It pains me that this game, while enjoyed by die-hard fans of Phantasy Star, it was ultimately forgotten by gamers. Several decided that because it wasn’t a new game with the EXACT same play style as Episodes I & II, it was therefore a terrible game. I say play the freaking game, without a biased mindset, and realize that C.A.R.D. Revolution is a fresh, one of a kind masterpiece! As for the shop, since it was a direct link from SEGA, I wasn’t surprised that it came in a timely manner, untouched. Good game; hail SEGA.
Great game and very fun to play
Not what you would expect based on the other PSO series games, however it a fun game in it’s own right. If you liked the Baten Kaitos games, give this a try as they have a lot in common for playstyle.
let me say that at first i was a bit skeptical about the game as it strayed from the hack’n’slash and went toward a card game. not only did they make it a card game they made it an AWESOME card game. say goodbye to your standard magic or yu-gi-oh card games, this one beats them all. Fans of the series will notice the standard items like mates (health) and fluids (magic). and of course there will be rares, lots and lots of rares. Overall i think that ST took a gamble and it payed off big time.
This game is not a waste of time or money, especially if you have a modem or a group of friends that have this game also. If you own pso 1 and 2, there are a few things you should know. one is that it is a completely different game and just because you like 1 and 2, doesnt mean u will like III. YOU CANNOT USE YOUR CHARACHTER FROM ONE AND TWO. this is a classic turned base rpg except with cards and a stage divided into squares (much like FF tactics). the arks play like monster summoners and call monsters onto the "chess board" whereas the hunters are only one person who equips weapons and fights with them. another "feature" is the dice. at the beginning of each turn, you roll dice to decide how much you can attack for. this is irritating. another difference between the two games is that in 3, the rare items are COMMONthis means that if you always have wanted to see what a diska of braveman looks like, this is a way to find out. some items are so rare in 1&2 that you will never see them, that is a very cool thing about III. Finally, i have played both games and episode III’s battles are a little long. if you dont own either, both are worth owning, but 1&2 is just better, thats all
My daughter LOVES the Phantasy Star Online games and has been playing them at her friend’s house for nearly three years. I finally decided to buy CARD Revolution for her. On top of that, the game is in very good condition and she is very excited to own the game herself!
good
First of all I’d like to say that I have played this game in both offline and online modes already. Now most of the complaints about this game is about it being centered around turnbased cardplay, instead of the hack and slash exploration that made Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II what it was. Change is not always bad. I was skeptikal until Mr. Armion Ovlight, a well known gamer, allowed me to play with him. I was blown away at the complexity of the game. It requires you to think, and adapt. The game was well designed. Actual gameplay takes place on preset battlefields. These battlefields are B-E-A-utiful. Graphics were not spared there. And everything reacts, from grass swaying in the wind, to birds flying over head and sometimes scattering at intense moments. Musically, Card revolution improves on itself by introducing several new tracks. Dolby owners will love the soundtrack. What about the card gimmick? The cards are your items, armors, weapons, extra attacks, mags, and special moves. Of course if you are the darkside, many cards are replaced with Enemy cards. You will summon forth the creatures of Ragol to do your bidding. Your HL from Episode I and II carries over to Episode 3 as well as your guild card data. Now the minuses are; character creation is useless as you will use a preset character in battle and your character will not be seen outside of Lobbies and pioneer 2.AR cheats are already surfacing, though bans for using them are in progressOnline.
This game is often bashed for being a card game and not at all similar to the first 2 PSO titles. However, this game is extremely fresh and still utilizes many of the great features form the first two titles. It can be summed up as Final Fantasy Tactics mixed with a Yu-Gi-Oh card battle. Very addicting to get new cards and make better decks.
