My daughter loves this game on her 3DS. She said it is her favorite. Warning: If you get this for your kids, they may ignore you for quite some time because they are having too much fun playing with this.
The constant quest for new gear to fight new beasts to get new gear has kept me engaged for many hours. However, I can’t give it a full 5 stars because even though each monster hunt feels different, as does each weapon, the combat can often feel as if I’m just doing the same thing over and over again, especially when I need to fight the same monster multiple times to get enough resources. Changing to a new weapon can eliviate this problem for some time, but doing so takes time.
I bought this game thinking I would immiedately fight big a** monsters, but no you start out picking berries. This is my first Monster Hunter game and I was quite dissapointed at first. But then I gave it a chance to develope. Man I did misjudge it. Once you start getting into the real deal, you start enjoying it really much. I am still developing my character and I already enjoy it. Give it a chance and make sure you have time for this game because I already put in 5 hours and only bought a helmet.
I wanted this because i never get to play on my boyfriends wiiU but this game is beyond awesome with hours of play. Some of the textures are odd but that’s just one thing everything else is great missions, crafting armor, collecting herbs, it’s all fun
Great game! Good graphics! My 2 boys ordered this game with a gift card from Christmas. After seeing their 2 cousins with this game they wanted it too! It is fun to watch the 4 of them connect and play the game together.

First MH game I owned, bought the 3ds for it. Really helps if you have regular friends to play with, because while the first fight you need to do yourself, subsequent fights are better off done with decoys.
I have been played this game for 150 hours, and I almost play it everyday. I have been playing MH series for 3 years. Monster Hunter is a awesome game. In this ultimate version, you most get all the monsters in the 3rd version (both in tri g and 3rd portable). and compared to other 3ds games in north america, it is definitely worth the money (150+ gameplay hours). And with multiplayer mode, it is just awesome, a lot of fun!!! I play multiplayers with my girlfriend every day (she is a big fan too).It may look hard and complex at the beginning, but when you get into the game, you will love it!
