Ok, Metroid isn’t just fun. It’s one of the greatest games I’ve ever played and you need to get it for your NESJuly 28, 2022
This game was hard, but yet fun! The music score was soothing, adventurous, and enjoyable to go with the game. Graphics were colorful and well advanced for 1986! Like Kid Icarus, it does’nt fool around for one minute. Wasting rockets, falling into the lava, having to use your smart bombs to elevate to the higher ground to proceed, and falling back while the enemies hit you from all angles are NO JOKE!! You gotta know what you’re doing or else “game over.” I only beat the first boss after so many tries so I really suck. The passwords are just as hard as playing the game itself (this was when passwords were a new thing in video games) so make sure you jot them down correctly or get yourself an emulator. Game Genie will give you a better boost, but you gotta use your best judgement on where to go because unless you have the first issue of Nintendo Power or the internet (not available in the 1980’s), you are lost! I know game genie is cheating, but I don’t care as long as I get the satisfaction of completing the game while I get a lasting enjoyment of shooting enemies with my infinite rockets. I did’nt complete the game yet, but yes, Samus is a chick…cool!!! Now thats equal opportunity gaming. That also proves that it did’nt start with Princess in Super Mario 2 of which came out 2 years later.I gotta go and finish the game so I strongly recommend this game for the NES or spend some Wi points on it if you don’t have the NES! Its hard, but its worth your money. Same thing wi.July 25, 2022
Son loves it. Didn’t disappoint.July 25, 2022

Just purchased an NES clone, and this was the first game I purchased for it! Absolute must-have. Challenging and keeps you on the edge of your seat!July 25, 2022
THERE ARE ONLY A FEW GAMES IN THE HISTORY OF VIDEO GAMES THAT HAVE BE OWNED OR AT LEAST PLAYED. IF YOU HAVE AN OLD SCHOOL NINTENDO THERE ARE FEW GAMES THAT ARE ABSOLUTE CLASSICS THAT PUT ALL OTHERS TO SHAME. AND METROID IS ONE OF THEM. IT’S A LONG AND HARD GAME, BUT THAT’S THE WAY THEY WERE BACK IN THE DAY, AND WE LIKED IT THAT WAY. IT TOOK US THREE YEARS TO BEAT THEM AND WE WERE OVER JOYED WHEN WE FINALLY DID THAT WE PLAYED IT AGAIN. THE ORIGINAL IS STILL THE BEST.July 24, 2022
I first played Metroid when I was about 4 or 5, very young. I saw my parents playing it, and I had to play it of course. I think the thing that took my breath away the most was the idea of being able to play in one huge world and gain abilites by finding items. The difficulty was very high, so I had plenty reason to come back for more, as well. The GBA version of Metroid is much easier, in my opinion, due to the fact that you don’t need to imput the passwords over and over again. That is the only flaw in this game: the passwords are confusing as heck. It uses lower and upper case letters, as well as a plethora of numbers and punctuation marks, so it is easy to write down something and get confused later on ( zeros look like o’s…). Anyway, next to Super Metroid this is probably the greatest video game ever made, and expresses what a good video game is all about: Using your brain power to achieve something that is not only complicated, but fun. This is an open-ended game which is one huge level. Unlike Contra, Adventure Island and all those classic NES games, Metroid was one huge level which was intertwined and allowed the player to interract with the environment (ex: shooting a creature with the ice beam, then blowing a few blocks away above your head to reveal a hidden passage). It’s hard to express how fun this game was, and still is.Graphics- 10/10 When it cam out, the graphics were top of the line and the environments look pretty awesome, especially the Norfair, Ridley,.July 23, 2022
