It brings back a lot of memories playing these games as a kid on the SNES And Genesis. It also makes my kids happy to play something I used to play when I was their age
Like most video games from the 80’s and 90’s the graphics aren’t anything to call home about. But, it is nice to be able to play games from a console I didn’t grow up with. It is pretty challenging. It takes patience and timing to get through the levels.
These games are everything I remember; fantastical animation for it’s time (and comparatively, even today) hard to beat, and fun music that brings back amazing memories of VHS and sega times! It transfers nicely to the switch, and the controls are unexplained but not necessary to have a tutorial (hold down to roll Simba, jump with B, etc). And of course, just as FREAKING DIFFICULT to advance. The switch conversion of these games feature a “Museum” with three major parts: 1) videos-where you can watch videos on how the Disney animators helped create the games into ‘playable cartoons’, and on the games creation in general. 2) Game art(Aladdin Only)- the specifics of how animators drew the mechanics in early stages of the game. 3) Movie art- color schemes of character design and early art of the movie’s production. It also has a “Soundtrack” feature where you can listen to the 8-bit styled songs featured in the games.Overall, this was probably one of the best purchases I could have made for the switch, because not onl does it bring me the beloved games to modern day, but it also has an unexpected amount of info on the art and design that anyone can appreciate! I will probably be stuck on level two just like I was all those years ago, but I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
It’s an old school game that I love to play when I was little. I am glad they bring back my 2 old favorite games for the switch.
Takes me back to the 90s; who doesn’t remember this game? I feel bad for your childhood; this is a magical and immersive game with tons of fun and nostalgic moments; they did a great job reviving this for the switch; highly recommended!
I had both of these games as a child! My 8,7&6 year old like them. Granted my 8 year old likes it more than the 7&6 year old as they are a bit challenging, even for my 8 year old!
I expected only one version of each game. I never played lion king when I was a kid, but I logged many many hours on Aladdin for the Sega Genesis.I feel like it’s appropriately priced for everything you get.
Package came in perfect condition, I love the old classics and I love the switch. I was over those emulators you put on your phone/tablet just to play these games again. They’re both fun, and I love the combo they chose to combine for this remake. Some people still sell these original classics seperately online for a lot of money so its definitely a good buy in my opinion.
If you like Disney games from SNES/SEGA Genesis era you’re going to enjoy all this games! This is a throwback to childhood and good old times!
If you were a child in the 16 bit era and loved snes and sega genesis as I did then this is for you but if you’re fan of modern 16 bit style games then this is not for you as older games didn’t actually have deep stories or for that matter dialogue most of the time this is nostalgia plain and simple.
