I actually liked this game! I considered this game one of the most underrated games ever. The physics and action play is quite good and the abundance of play is worth the buy. If you like to do a little fighting with a little puzzlin’ to solve than this is a good game you might have not heard of. I like how you can ride a motorcycle around the town from place to place but you can’t do it at will which really stinks but hopefully they will allow that in the sequel! Well, there is alot of things I like about this game but to put it in short, very good graphics, very good play, very good story = VERY GOOD GAME
This game is really great in a lot of areas. The controls and game style are a lot like Metal Gear Solid 2 (as you can probably tell from numerous other reviewers), so if you go from that game to this one (as I did) you’ll be catching on rather quickly. The only thing that really stinks about this game is the saving system. You can save at any point during a level, but if you get killed you’re starting all over again on that level. In other words, if you have 8 objectives on a level (find this, move that, etc) and get 7 of them done but get killed, then you start all over again. This makes the game unnecessarily repetitious and takes away from the overall fun of the game rather quickly. Likewise, if you begin a new level, you have to figure out if you have time to completely finish it or not. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense to start a mission you’ll just have to start all over again if you don’t get through at that moment. You’ll find yourself putting this game away quickly when you reach a snag and picking up some other game for a while until the "sameness" wears off. On the plus side though, the storyline and cut scenes are great, and it’s really a fun game overall. When they come out with Headhunter 2, they need to borrow the save system from MGS2 so you can pick up right where you leave off.
this game is really awsome just got to get used to the controls and allways look at your map and better yet get a walkthrough and hook it up with action replay cheats you will have the time of your life lol its the only way to play soulfixx
An enhanced port of an awesome Dreamcast game. Very nice graphics, stirring music, good sound effects, great characters, funny parodies of TV news, government programs, & consumer products as well as a compelling story. Keep in mind tha it’s a DC port from late 2001, so the graphics are not on par its sequel, Headhunter: Redemption or similar games such as MGS Snake Eater. On the other hand, the graphics help to add to the oppressive atmosphere. Please note that this does NOT mean that the graphics are horrible- they are not. This game is actually an example of how to port a DC game to PS 2, where as Grandia 2 & Test Drive LeMans had stellar graphics on DC but horrid & numerous jagged edges in their PS 2 ports. Controls are dated but serviceable & the game is very enjoyable & a lot of fun- definitely worth a purchase.
Best shotgun action of any game. Sportbike play is decent. Can equip and unequip your shades. Stealth kills’ neck crunching sound affects never get old. Only down side to the game is that it takes too long to get the machine gun and missile launcher. But once you have the missile launcher, the fun never ends! Better than Red Faction? Yes. Better than GTA3? Negative. Addictive? Absolutely!
Let me first start out by discussing the bad points since there are just a few. I don’t know how to ride a real motorcycle; I’m scared of them, but it would probably be easier for me to overcome my fear of riding one in real life than the one in the videogame. The controls are horrible. Also, who thought of that stupid simulator you have to go through in order to upgrade your license? That was ridiculous!!!Besides these two headaches, I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I couldn’t get enough of the hide and peek around the corner ability. The intelligence of the enemies was up to par as well. I would’ve rated it 5 stars if you could turn up the gore level and include blood, but that’s ok. It was a little short, but a piece of heaven compared to that worthless “No One Lives Forever” game.
Headhunter has gotten almost no real advertising and great reviews, despite the fact it is one of the best games I have. This game is very much like the covert/action games with a bit of everything: shooting, driving, puzzles, covert missions, and upgrades. I feel as though all PS2 owners should at least try and rent the game, if not purchase it. By not playing this you are missing one of the best games on the system.
I love headhunter i bought it before i even played it. when i loaded it up i noticed that this game has great camera angles and dosent get “clumsy camera” like in spiderman. the graphics are great and it has a mixture of grand theft auto and metal gear solid in the game play. the controlls are like metal gear solid so you judge if you think that is good or not. there is more of a world in headhunter then in grand theft auto and you can go in almost EVERY building. this game is every thing you want in a video game, it has strategy, adventure, horror, suspence, action, arcade, and much more… GET THE GAME!!!!!!!!
very fun game, nice story and cool weapons
I absolutely love this game!! I first played it when it was first released for the ps2, and am currently playing it again. Being a fifteen year old game, I must say it is still thoroughly enjoyable. Even the graphics are pretty amazing. I enjoyed its sequel Headhunter Redemption as well, and have been waiting many many years for a third game, which sadly never happened. If the developers just (please, I beg you) make a couple more, I’d be a very happy camper!!
