An enhanced port of an awesome Dreamcast game. Very nice graphics, stirring music, good sound effects, great characters, funny parodies of TV news, government programs, & consumer products as well as a compelling story. Keep in mind tha it’s a DC port from late 2001, so the graphics are not on par its sequel, Headhunter: Redemption or similar games such as MGS Snake Eater. On the other hand, the graphics help to add to the oppressive atmosphere. Please note that this does NOT mean that the graphics are horrible- they are not. This game is actually an example of how to port a DC game to PS 2, where as Grandia 2 & Test Drive LeMans had stellar graphics on DC but horrid & numerous jagged edges in their PS 2 ports. Controls are dated but serviceable & the game is very enjoyable & a lot of fun- definitely worth a purchase.
One of THEE best games ever made! Absolutely one my Top Favorites! The game is a lot of fun to play and the game as a whole provides one very memorable experience you WILL remember for a lifetime :) The soundtrack is very amazing and extremely well done. If you haven’t played or heard of this game and you enjoy action games that use stealth gameplay mechanics and have a very good story that keeps you pulled in from start to finish then this game is definitely for you. There is a sequel to this game called Headhunter Redemption but there is no motorcycle riding in the game which is one of it’s drawbacks but it’s a good game but not as good as Headhunter but you should still play it because it’s fun and the story is very gritty and dark set many many years after Headhunter. Unfortunately the developer of Headhunter and Headhunter Redemption closed down their studio many years ago in 2005 so there was never a 3rd Headhunter but I really do hope that someday a worthy game developer makes a 3rd game and I’m fine with the 3rd being a prequel because it would be interesting to find out the origins of Jack Wade. There is also a dreamcast version of Headhunter which is actually the original version of the game since it first came out to the dreamcast and then a year later it got ported to the PS2. I Highly Recommend this game because it definitely provided me an game experience to remember for a lifetime. Everytime I play this game it brings back good memories :)
I found this great came captivating and attention grabbing. I have had this game for 3 days and already i have played it for 15 hours. it is very entertaining with it’s futuristic influence. I enjoyed this game very much. A must have for crime fighting lovers.
Let me first start out by discussing the bad points since there are just a few. I don’t know how to ride a real motorcycle; I’m scared of them, but it would probably be easier for me to overcome my fear of riding one in real life than the one in the videogame. The controls are horrible. Also, who thought of that stupid simulator you have to go through in order to upgrade your license? That was ridiculous!!!Besides these two headaches, I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I couldn’t get enough of the hide and peek around the corner ability. The intelligence of the enemies was up to par as well. I would’ve rated it 5 stars if you could turn up the gore level and include blood, but that’s ok. It was a little short, but a piece of heaven compared to that worthless “No One Lives Forever” game.
Best shotgun action of any game. Sportbike play is decent. Can equip and unequip your shades. Stealth kills’ neck crunching sound affects never get old. Only down side to the game is that it takes too long to get the machine gun and missile launcher. But once you have the missile launcher, the fun never ends! Better than Red Faction? Yes. Better than GTA3? Negative. Addictive? Absolutely!
good game
This game is really great in a lot of areas. The controls and game style are a lot like Metal Gear Solid 2 (as you can probably tell from numerous other reviewers), so if you go from that game to this one (as I did) you’ll be catching on rather quickly. The only thing that really stinks about this game is the saving system. You can save at any point during a level, but if you get killed you’re starting all over again on that level. In other words, if you have 8 objectives on a level (find this, move that, etc) and get 7 of them done but get killed, then you start all over again. This makes the game unnecessarily repetitious and takes away from the overall fun of the game rather quickly. Likewise, if you begin a new level, you have to figure out if you have time to completely finish it or not. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense to start a mission you’ll just have to start all over again if you don’t get through at that moment. You’ll find yourself putting this game away quickly when you reach a snag and picking up some other game for a while until the "sameness" wears off. On the plus side though, the storyline and cut scenes are great, and it’s really a fun game overall. When they come out with Headhunter 2, they need to borrow the save system from MGS2 so you can pick up right where you leave off.
When I purchased Headhunter I had heard that it was a very good game and that it was in the same comparrison as Metal Gear Solid 2. Well the game definetly isn’t that good, and although I will reccomend it, you really should just borrow it from someone instead of buying it. First off, the game is very very hard. This is coming from someone who beat MGS2 in just under 9 hours. The things that Jack Wade needs to do, such as stunning mechanical spiders and then throwing them at a door, took me about and hour to figure out. Various other things are very hard, but most importantly, the game can be very annoying. Going back and forth to get an upgrade on your license is about the dumbest thing ever created in video games. Also, gather skill points by riding your motorcycle through the city is annoying because every time you crash into a car, the points are taken away. If Headhunter would have just concentrated on gameplay, this would be a 5 star masterpiece. Instead, the game just gets by, mostly because it has a very good storyline, almost like a movie, and has a pretty cool ending. And the game helped itself when I decided to play Half-Life right after it…
very fun game, nice story and cool weapons
I love headhunter i bought it before i even played it. when i loaded it up i noticed that this game has great camera angles and dosent get “clumsy camera” like in spiderman. the graphics are great and it has a mixture of grand theft auto and metal gear solid in the game play. the controlls are like metal gear solid so you judge if you think that is good or not. there is more of a world in headhunter then in grand theft auto and you can go in almost EVERY building. this game is every thing you want in a video game, it has strategy, adventure, horror, suspence, action, arcade, and much more… GET THE GAME!!!!!!!!
