I love this game. It’s exactly how I remember it growing up and just as fun. If you’re a FF fan its a good choice to get.
Originally this game was called ‘Saga 2’ in japan and was not an installment of final fantasy until this US title. Simply put, it rocks. The leveling system is totally transparent but natural, if you fight with a strength weapon, your strength may go up, the chance increases if you make a kill. You can use MAGI of different types to give a bonus to your stats. The ‘replayability’ is off the charts with the ability to have any combination of four: human, mutant, robot, or monster, with duplicates allowed. The different characters offer a broad range of combat and growth style:, robots for example excel at using guns and cannons, their stats are not increased through leveling but by upgrading and swapping out different weapons and armors, monsters only level by changing forms from eating other monsters meats. For a challenge play as two humans and two mutants (one male and one female of each) because their form of leveling is all from battling, don’t let me make you think they are weak however as there are no limits to the strength of the human/mutant character as the robot is limited by the items in the game and the monster is limited by the available monster forms, only the human and mutant can continue to advanced even passed the display limit of 999. For a quick path to victory try one mutant and three robots, they will have unmatched firepower.
I got this game a long time ago after I bought number 3. Not to knock anyone who likes it but this is by far the 2nd worst game I have ever played. The game so insanely hard that it wasn’t fun anymore. I used game shark for max stats and unlimited of the best weapons, and I still found myself dying over and over. But the story is pretty good. You have to travel through a bunch of different worlds looking for the main characters dad. You get to collect different magi, magic stones. That help you get around to different worlds. In every world their is a beanstalk thing that goes up and they all me in this big area going to the next. Progressing through the game is only hard b/c the enemies are hard, but going in the right direction is great b/c people in towns will always tell you. But unless you are a fan, don’t buy this.
and the best out of the three. FFL2 (or SaGa 2) is the best available for the gameboy. It includes: 4 races, many abilites, a unique item/ability battle system, and an interesting story. It’s races were used again in the game SaGa Frontier (save a few name changes.) I won’t say you will necessarily like it, I am just giving my opinion on the game. Personally, I like the SaGa series better than the FF series (SaGa includes SaGa 1-3, Romancing SaGa 1-3, and SaGa Frontier 1-2). Give it a shot, it couldn’t hurt.
THIS GAME IS THE BEST GAME YOU WILL EVER FIND TO PLAY ON A GAME BOY!!! THE GRAPHICS R GOOD FOR A 10 YEAR OLD GAME THE SOUND EFFEX R INCREDIBLE, AND THIS GAME NEVER GETS BORING,YOU’LL WNAT TO PLAY IT ALL DAY, AND FOR PARENTS LIKE I HAVE THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU’RE ZONED OUT IN THE FINAL FANTASY LEGEND 2 WORLD IT MEANS IT’S A GREAT GAME, SO DON’T TAKE IT FROM YOUR KIDS. now for the review >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>well as a christian i must say this game might be offensive to some people as their is mere mild violence not like people getting diced into strips of meat, and mild language like darn etc. but compared to the final fantasy PS games, this game shows that not all cool games have to have machine guns, or drugs. This game has none of that stuff, i loved it some parts took me days to figure out and it was such a relief to watch myself complete a certain part that i’c have trouble with, this game can get frustrating, and that’s why i loved it,it’s amazing how a computer chip can make you wanna jump out your 3 story houses top window (with the gameboy!)now just because im a christian doesn’t mean it’s a saintly game where the whole world is perfect, it’s awesome anyone would like it, if you see this anywhere grab it, and head out the door, but remeber god’s watching you so you better pay first. hehe hee
As described.
Blast from the past! This one brings back memories from my past, and if you have never had an opportunity to play this game, you should dig out that old GameBoy or Advance SP and do it! I personally re–purchased this game and an Advance to play this game and its predecessor, Final Fantasy Legend. The Legend series never showed up on the Nintendo e-shop, which is very odd, as they would have been top money-makers for Nintendo et. al. I would never have sold my old hardware if I knew these games were not going to be sold there. Anyhow, if you’ve never played these games, please do so, and find out for yourself what–other than the original Tetris–took a very basic B&W game machine and made it famous so long ago.
An absolute classic on the old Gameboy! You’re missing out if you haven’t played this series!
Here we go again.First off, as stated in my The Final Fantasy Legend review, this is NOT affiliated with Final Fantasy in ANY way. In the wake of the SNES’ popularity and the success of Final Fantasy II (Final Fantasy IV in Japan), the cover art was changed to accommodate the new cover seen in the picture. Also, "the" was taken out of the title, as most people called it "Final Fantasy Legend" anyway.Second, as stated before, this is a GAMEBOY game. Don’t expect the very best of color or graphics. That being said, they packed a LOT on this little cartridge. This game is HUGE. Expect to put about 20 hours (maybe less, if you know what you are doing) into this game. Also, they added in more of a "leveling" system that was hard to grasp in the first game. When you eat new meat, your character will grow a bit stronger. They also added robots into the mix, that level up when they "eat" bolts and stuff. ‘Cause, that what robots do, don’t they? Don’t question the early ’90’s video game logic!Third, the music is still excellent, and the sound effects are better this time around. As with any game series, they pushed the boundaries back some more with the successive games. An excellent read. Also, there is an "underwater" section with music that matches it. Just grand with much forethought.Lastly, the plot. This one shines. Instead of going up a tower, this time you are looking for something called "MAGI." No, that is not.
I liked playing this game as much as the previous legend game. I remember that with each game I was pleasantly surprised that the graphic was getting subtlety better. I really like role-playing games so graphics is not everything to me as long as I do not have to make something up myself to continue the play. Hum, was that water I crossed? No, I do not want to do that; and you don’t in this game. Seeing the beginnings of a series you really like can be a cherished experience and in turn a wonderful memory. Therefore, if you do not mind simple graphics, and like role-playing games you will like this game.
