This was actually one of the first games I ever placed a pre-order for. I ordered it, waited for it to come in, picked it up , took it home, opened it, ever so gently placed it into the PS2, turned it on and began to play…. what would turn out to be one of the BEST games I have ever played. The graphics and art work in the game are beyond good. The gameplay is smooth and intense. While not quite as break-neck as some of the Devil May Cry moments , the combat makes you think a bit more, and you are rewarded. The feel of the game is intense and inviting. Worth every penny. Incredible game.
Love the game great to have it back
I am liking this game.
Still as hard to play as I remember.
Thanks.
Hey for those that liked Devil May Cry 2, this game, is a go getter. Fulled by revenge, you are the main character going against your best friend. You can summon up to three Legions at your side to help you go up against the forces of darkness. For they are conjured up from the shadows of darkness. I loved the graphics, they’re truly amazing.I love this game and I bet you will to.
good story, good game play, no problems
I first heard of this game by playing a demo of it from a playstation magazine. It was awesome and I just had to buy it so when I got my next paycheck, I went out and bought it right away.At first, the game was pretty hard but eventually I got the hang of it. I beat the game through once on normal mode with Sieg in just under 23 hours. After the first time, I played it through with Arcia on Normal and Hard and then through Hard mode with Sieg. In total I’ve put about 70 hours into this game in the 2 weeks I’ve owned it and I’m still playing it.But trust me, this game isn’t for everyone. For me, I love this game and I don’t even own Devil May Cry. But my friend majorly hates this game for no aparent reason. I recomend not buying this game, but instead renting it or playing demos at least before you make up your mind. This isn’t a game meant to appeal to everyone.Graphics – 8/10The character and monster graphics as well as the effects and cinematics are great but the backgrounds are just okay. They are kinda rough and plain so that takes a bit away from the overall graphics.Gameplay – 8/10At the start, the game can seem kind of confusing and hard but after you get the controls under wraps, it’s a breeze geeting perfect rank on any level.Sound – 6/10The music is okay but not that memorable. I can’t even remeber a single background song from any level. The sound effects are good though but the ending theme song almost killed me. Whoever even thought of hiring whoever the guy was.
This game blew my socks off. Literally. In fact I’m peeling one off the screen as I write this. When I first tried the Thanatos legion’s power up and everything went into slow motion as creatures started exploding around me, my jaw hit the floor and I couldn’t stop saying "holy sh*t!!!". I’ll admit I was a little dissapointed when I first played it- the foreground graphics were sharp and the character models had lots of detail, but the backgrounds were fuzzy and looked unpolished, and seemed to consist of different shades of grey or brown. What really drew me in and kept me coming back though was the incredible action this game has to offer.First of all, the number of enemies you’ll be facing onscreen is just ridiculous, and I guess to keep the framerate up the developers had to sacrifice some detail in the backgrounds, which is a fair trade-off in my opinion. The monster designs are by far some of the best I’ve ever seen and the animations are incredibly realistic. Playing as Sieg you’ll almost feel as if you’re watching a CGI movie at times, the animations are that good. I was really impressed with the music, there are some very good tunes in the game and they really get you going. The cutscenes are also worth a mention- very well done even if the story seems a little thin. One of Chaos Legion’s coolest features is the ability to summon legions of demonic entities to fight alongside you. There’s something really cool about wading into the thick of battle.
When I was playing Chaos Legion, I got the feeling that Capcom might have shifted some of its resources from Devil May Cry 2 to CL that made DMC2 such a big disappointment. I am sorry that they are so similar, except that CL is better and one can call helper creatures to fight in CL but not in DMC2. Would DMC2 be much improved without the existence of CL? God knows.Back to CL, the graphics and designs are excellent. The moves and control are smooth and fast. The storyline is the same old fashioned. There are 14 stages. However, you will begin to find the gameplay repetitive after stage 7 and so you can complete the whole game in at most 6 hours. Therefore, unless you are a game collector and you love DMC and even DMC2 very much, just rent CL.
