Great game and shop description was on point. Reliable
Still one of Wii U’s best games.
(Having not played any other games in the Xeno series I do not have any issues of it "not living up to the previous games’ themes" issues.)In the past decade of games there are a few games that have really grabbed my attention and kept me engaged.KOTOR, Mass Effect, Skyrim to name a few. I am going to add this game to the list. I have not played Xenoblade Chronicles on the old Wii. I dislike games with pre set characters. This one changed that for me. Graphically it looks amazing and is probably the most impressive visual game the Wii U will get. There is a decent character building section. I believe the quasi anime inspired design of the character’s limits all the options. People will not find this aspect as impressive as Skyrim or even Mass Effect’s build section.Nearly everything is bigger than you. The nuts and bolts of the story is this. You are a crash survivor on a distant planet teeming with life. And in this planet most everything is as big as.. or far bigger than you.If you can see it in game you can probably get to it.I have yet to earn my mech piloting ability in game. But nearly every landmass I have seen show up in the game can be reached. Nothing in this game is small. The world is dangerous. As I mentioned before you are far from the biggest creature around. What’s more some things see you as lunch and will take you if they spot you. And you can’t just cruise through areas because you see a few low level enemies. Sometimes far meaner ones are lurking in.
Aliens and humans and mechs. What’s not to love?
Interesting game, though not quite what I thought it would be. There are so many cut scenes, with poor animation, but if you like old-school action RPG’s you will be delighted to learn the combat is actually somewhat similar to BioWare style KotOR/Dragon Age games.
Awesome game for the Wii JRPGs at their best.
Very long game. After 45 hours, I’m only at level 30, and I’ve seen a level 85 monster. Graphics are top notch and it never lags. I miss the chain attacks, future visions, and charming English accents from the first game.
This game is massive and it is easy to get sucked into its world with tons of side quests, items, unlockable movesets (arts), mechs (skells), gear, variety of enemies, and just exploration itself. Sure, the main story may not blow anyone away and the learning curve may be a bit steep for newbies to the battle system, but once you get going, it is quite a ride and you will seemingly never run out of things to do / explore. This is a definite must-have game for the Wii U and I can’t wait for a future sequel.
Great game, a must own for Wii U owners.
