Test Drive Unlimited shines in it’s cockpit view that is accurate to the real car… A refreshing change… It’s a addictive and interesting racing experience… There’s no other driving game quite like it on the PS2… If your looking for something different and off the beaten path then this is for you.
The only thing to make this game better, is to add a manual transmission change function.Cool parts are that you can view, open doors, windows, and sit inside of each of the cars you are looking at. You can even test drive cars, which are out of your budget, prior to getting to purchase them later. The only thing I noticed is that all cars have manual transmissions installed in them, however your computer driver gets all the fun of shifting gears. In the real world, none of these cars is remotely fun to operate unless equipped with a manual transmission.The Island, which is suppose to resemble Hawaii, is almost endless taking about a few hours to completely round out and even after play the game for a few months crossing over the same area almost feels new again.Overall the game play is awesome and you can drive anywhere your vehicle will allow you to travel without sliding back down or over or into the water where you will be reset.
Its a very good game, i liked it better than need for speeds in which u just play raceses such as,different race clubsin whhich u can become president,time race, eliminator raceses and many more. In this game you can buy/sell cars, buy/sell homes. Also it has many cars, such as,audi, GM, chrysler, dodge, ford, jaguar,CCR, lamborghini, Mclaren, mercedes Benz includes Mclaren Slr, Saleen… many others. You can go to aftermarket parts, car rental agency, paint shop, realtor and upgrade your cars. Also the retrolio purchase is secure and shipping is very good. I received my Cd in three days with a standard delivery procedure.
So far I have played this game for about 4 hrs. It’s pretty good but it’s definitely no NFS. The graphics are fairly good and the music is ok. This game is all about the cars, although I did read you get to purchase and ride motorcycles later on as well. Nice. =) They have some really cool cars from muscle cars to exotics and concepts. When you purchase your car, you choose the exterior paint job as well as the interior color scheme for your seats and carpet and dash areas. You can choose from several rims as well. Later on, you will be able to go to upgrade shops and upgrade your car’s performance as well as looks from what i’ve read.It’s awesome to drive from the in-car view. To be able to look around inside your car while you are driving is very cool indeed. You can even roll your windows up and down! =) You can also change your radio stations. I read that the windshield wipers work but I haven’t encountered rain yet to see that in work. Also, the in-dash gauges actually work. How cool is that?! You can also watch your avatar shift gears! =)Traction control can be turned off to allow for more realistic racing. As far as the actual racing goes, it’s not too shabby and is enjoyable. You can set the difficulty for each race on 3 different levels..easy, normal, hard. If you set it to easy, you will earn less money but are pretty much guaranteed the win. The harder you set the race, the more money you earn.You use the money you earn to buy more cars and houses..
