Superb chaos – hearkening back to Smash TV. Only wish it was a 2 player game!
“State Of Emergency” is a very fun game to play.There are about five different characters you can choose from(three of which have to be unlocked first) and four different locations as well (capital city mall,east side,chinatown and corporation central).In Revolution mode,you perform little simple side missions,trying to destroy a corporation,all while a ton of people and gangs are running around,rioting and looting stores.There is also a mode called Chaos,where you just run around destroying everything and everyone you want.There are a ton of cool weapons that can be picked up and used.Such as all sorts of guns,melee weapons and you can also pick up random objects and throw them at people,windows,cars…and just about anything you want….plus you can always use your combat attacks and beat the hell out of people.The game does get a bit repeative after a while,and the graphics are outdated,but “State Of Emergency” is a good game to play when you want to take your frusturation out on somebody.
than your looking at the wrong game. This game is strickly a chaotic beat em up, with 175 missions, which includes overthrowing the goverment because of corp. take over.( notice how the goverment is evil in most games gee i wonder why? ;)this game kinda reminds me of streets of rage meets smash t.v.& loaded. 2 main down falls include..no 2 player co-op mode & no jump kicking. If this game had both ,I would definitly give it 5 stars, rather than the 4 and a half i give it. All in all it is incredibly fun and addictive!! graphics are top notch. control is perfect, chaos mode is very arcade like and remindes me of crazy taxi… If you like fast, crazy , beat em ups than run and get this game now! You will be happy you did. THANKS AGAIN ROCKSTAR FOR HAVING… TO CREATE GAMES FOR MATURE GAMERS, ONLY IF ALL THE OTHER GAME COMPANYS WOULD CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS LIKE YOU DO..( and no i do not work for rockstar, just admiring there work ) KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND KEEP EM COMING …
Alright Alright we all know that this isnt as good as grand theft auto 3 but its still good rockstar did there best they thought that we would like there game its not there faulti bet when they first came out with GTA3 they didnt know it was going to be a success just give rockstar a good chance this game isnt that bad you can cause [heck] through 4 pretty long kinda short levels and if your complaining because you dont have enough ammo get cheats for the game overall The mall chinatown and all 4 of the levels our amazing with outstanding graphics and more this is a must buy to put in your PS2 collection
I had played this game during its release date back when renting video games was a thing. I fell in love with it. At its time it was crazy to see so many NPC’s running around the screen. The game is a mix of beat em up with some shooting. While the games control mechanics are easy and its fun to shoot through a crowd of 50 people the game has its minor flaws. There are 2 modes Chaos (more of a arcade time version of revolution) and revolution which takes the games story in a way. The problem is that the missions you do will become repetitive over time. By the time you finish the first level the second level will have identical missions. Another problem is that there are only 4 levels unfortunately meaning this game can be beaten within 2-3 days (no cheats) the game is still nostalgic and had a great concept. I recently downloaded the PC version and I have been replaying this game like crazy (now that its 2016) while the game has its small flaws the game had its hype. It focuses on a beat em style to which you can use weapons from all sorts of melee weapons to guns.
As soon I as saw the previews of this game i knew this was gooing to be a hit. Rockstar made this game so iknow its good they made GTA3 and Max Panye. I Can’t wait until this game comes out.
I just bought the game and played it. I was waiting it for a month. I think it is a good game if you really like the killing part in GTA3. However, don’t expect too much on this game. I think probably a player like me would spend a night to finish it. I suggest players use wild screen mode while they play specially for those players can’t stand the first person shooting game. It will be fun if you play it with wild screen mode since you will not feel dizzy. I think they can improve the game a lot. Hope rockstar will continue. They already did a good job. Enjoy~
then you should have bought the game with that title. This game is NOT Grand Theft Auto and any expectation that it should be is just ridiculous. That is my complaint about today’s gamers… they all seem to want to repeat the same great idea in EVERY game once a good game comes out. The reason that Grand Theft Auto was great was because it WASN’T like any other game out there. Now I see the basic complaint about State of Emergency is that it’s not Grand Theft Auto. Of course it’s not. They would have named it Grand Theft Auto: Emergency if they wanted you to think that it was.Now about State of Emergency. Personally, I think the game is great. Especially the Chaos mode were you really don’t have mission but you can run around the city destroying stuff. In my opinion it does play out like a riot and it allows you to engage in that guilty indulgence without getting physically hurt. I like how you can pick up chairs, guns, garbage cans, rocket launchers, molotov cocktails and more. It’s cool how you can blow up buildings, trucks and cars. This game is just insanity and really lots of fun.So why 4 stars and not 5? There are some areas that this game could have done better. For one, it would have been cool to be able to enter buildings. It’s so frustrating to see those open doors and not be able to walk through them. It would have been fun to be able to loot a store or beat up a cashier or something. The ability to enter a vehicle would have been nice too. Imagi.
I just bought the game yesterday and i haven’t taken my handsoff of since then. awesome game…..BUT NOTHING WILL BEAT GRAND THEFT AUTO 3 EXCEPT GRAND THEFT AUTO 4!!…..DEFINATELY RECOMMEND GAME….LOTS OF FUN!
First off, This game isn’t Grand Theft Auto 3. Get over it. It’s not supposed to be GTA3. All it’s doing is building on it’s environment and freedom. I got the game today and love it. It’s just as good as GTA3. In this game you do have to like gratuitous violence and blood because there is plenty of it. Overall a splending effort by Rockstar.
