One of the only things this game lacks in meaningful co-op, and racing with other characters. Other than that this is a solid sonic experience with solid platforming, and speedy "fun" levels. The story is very lackluster and feels tacked on, but the gameplay is fun, yet reminiscent of super mario galaxy.Four Stars.
You like Super Mario Galaxy? This is the same sort of thing but with Sonic, meaning is isn’t quite as good. It’s still fun and is probably the last good 3D Sonic game.
My son absolutely adores this game. It came exactly when it said it would arrive and for a used game was in excellent condition.
My six year old son loves this game. He is a huge sonic fan. Great birthday present.
As a long time Sonic fan, I was looking forward to this game, considering Nintendo was helping SEGA with this game. The last few Sonic games have been better than the bad ones that came before them, so hopes were high for this game. Other than one complaint I have, this game is actually pretty good.Unlike the most recent games, the focus on this game is not purely on speed. As fun as those games were, they lacked the platforming and enemies to take down that you had seen in the classic games, which are still very popular to this day. SEGA and Nintendo have gone back to those roots, added the parkour system (wall running) with some of the newer mechanics, like wall jumping and homing attacks returning. They also added a new kick attack, which can mix up how to fight the enemies, and returned the spin dash to replace the newer boosting mechanic. The final touch was to give Sonic 3 levels of speed. Walking, running and spin dash boosting. It works well, but does take a little bit to get used to initially. Once you’ve learned how to properly utilize the speeds and understand the parkour system, it becomes a blast to run through the levels as fast as you can to try to beat your best score, and to also collect all the hidden items for 100%The visuals are beautiful and the music is great. Silly cutscenes explaining the story, reminiscent of a saturday morning cartoon return, making it great for kids, as it keeps them interested. Levels can be beaten fairly easily as well,.
Excellent game.
What can I say? I’m a huge Sonic The Hedgehog fan, and when I first saw the screenshots of this game coming to Wii U, I knew it had promise. My opinions started to sway once reviews started pouring in, but thank God I didn’t listen to those people. This game is exactly what I wanted in a new Sonic game. Great gameplay, a colorful soundtrack, secret hidden collectables, and a truly great and funny story. The only part of.the soundtrack I didn’t like in the whole game is unfortunately the title screen music which happens to be the main theme. It mainly just keeps looping and I get bored of it very quickly. Besides that one song, I thought the soundtrack was phenomenal and genuinely got me pumped to play the game every time I turned it on. The gameplay greatly reminded me of Super Mario Galaxy, and even though they weren’t able to achieve the same level of perfection that it has, they still did a dang good job. There are a few missteps in the gameplay like bad camera angles, but I found myself getting used to them over time. Getting this game as a Wii U exclusive is a huge score for me. It’s one of the best Sonic games they have released in many years and I am proud to have it in my collection on Wii U.
Buying this game for a cheap price on here was indeed a success I give away all 5 stars
Not the best Sonic game, but definitely not Sonic Boom bad. Has a lot of potential and very underrated. I had fun with it, It just took me some time to get a hang of the controls. I would recommend this product.
Lost World feels like a true Sonic game – it has the fresh feel, speed, and occasional brutal difficulty of the Genesis originals. It’s full of fun and clever gameplay, and a great fit for Wii U. Highly recommended for fans of both old and new gaming styles. Lost World always feels new, even in its most nostalgic areas. It seems like many game site reviewers went in to this game with very specific expectations. If you can instead appreciate what the game actually is, there’s a lot to enjoy about it. I like being surprised, and this game surprised me throughout in some very fun ways.
