But like better, idk why. It’s just so much better the way you can listen to Chinese phone call conversations and hear the "Aiiiahhh!!" when you almost run someone over. I like the driving in this a lot better too. Not that this is like some knock off of GTA, I’m just saying that it’s a similar, open world type game that is just that much more fun.
This is fun! Love the hand to hand fighting and a pretty good story too.(allot better than expected) Recommended if you like the gangster genre.
AMazing video game! I didnt expect something this amazing to come from square enix or anything like that! Its very compact with what it has to offer in a good way and has a variety of side quests besides the main missions. the product itself was in tip top shape!
It worked perfectly. I have a excellent time. I told my friends about it. This undercover cop drama video game was intense and trilling.
If you use GTA as the standard for sandbox open world games, I think this one makes some really significant improvements and I hope Rockstar learns some from it for future games.A few key points that make it a great game:1. Good voice acting and a decent, focused, linear storyline. It was refreshing to play a good guy cop rather than always being a criminal.2. Having an open world game set in Hong Kong was also refreshing. The world is detailed and it’s clear that the developers spent a lot of time trying to make it accurate.3. Great mechanics. I loved action hijacking. I also liked how new skills were added bit by bit allowing you to master each one before you get a new one. Other driving mechanics were also really useful – pressing X while driving to ram cars was also great. You can get into your car while talking on your phone!4. You have the ability to store vehicles right at the beginning and there’s plenty of garages around the city to get cars.I enjoyed playing through and I would love more content!
I am admittedly a GTA fanboy. I play a lot of sandbox games, and I often enjoy them… but usually with the caveat "It’s nowhere near as good as GTA, but it’s still pretty good."Well, Sleeping Dogs *is* nearly as good as GTA and that’s saying a lot coming from me. Personally I think it’s more similar to GTA IV than any other game. To many, that’s an insult. From me, it’s very high praise. The only real flaw I see here is that the driving is a tad wonky, with twitchy steering control. It takes a lot of getting used to. So did GTA IV’s driving, but once I was used to it I thought it was arguably the best driving control and physics outside of a few dedicated racing games. I really don’t see that happening here. The fact that there’s no option to switch to a first person or on-the-hood camera is an unforgivable sin. I can understand why they don’t do that in Saints Row, but there’s nothing stopping them from implementing it here. All of the driving mechanics would still work perfectly well, including the "Action Hijack" feature where you jump from your car to another. That’s what the green arrow icon is for, after all. In the final analysis, this is the closest thing to a "major flaw" I can think of. It doesn’t really make a dent in the overall awesomeness of the game. The relatively small city and lack of flying vehicles are non-issues.The combat is more focused on hand to hand than gunplay. As I’m sure many others have said, it’s pretty similar to the A.
I enjoy this game, its a combination of Saints Row meets GTA meets Mafia meets Shenmue or Jade Empire. Fun fighting, challenging, and a pretty good storyline. Best part is the excellent graphics and driving is a lot of fun. So is a random flying roundhouse kick to the face of some unwitting pedestrians. :)
Sleeping Dogs was a wonderful game. It’s very much a GTA clone set in Hong Kong, but considering that it’s been nearly 5 years since the last GTA, this was a wonderful game. The story is very intriguing and it had me constantly playing just one more mission before I had to tend to real life responsibilities. My only real gripe with the game is that it wasn’t longer. After you beat the game you can still play around and finish any side missions you didn’t complete. Also, when fighting "grapplers", I didn’t feel I had enough time to press the appropriate button to counter their attacks. The melee combat was very fun and a refreshing experience from the normal shoot em up style that is GTA. A lot of people didn’t seem to like the driving mechanics of the game, but I felt they were just right for this style of a game. GTA 4 was supposedly more realistic, but it wasn’t fun driving on it at all. As soon as you can buy a class A motorcycle, buy one. Their fast and you can easily zip in and out of traffic and once you get the hang of taking curves, you’ll be cruising around Hong Kong in no time.I’d definitely recommend this game.
I’m not that far into this game yet. I’ve played for maybe an hour. So far it has been fun. It isn’t as open world as I thought it would be though. You are pretty much confined to certain areas running missions, helping vendors, and gaining experience toward your police side and your mob side.Like I said, I’m not that far into it yet so I can’t really give a better review.
Pretty good game I must say…I like this 3rd person shooter. Sure there is better games especially if you like online playing games as I do. So I give it 4 stars do to no online playing capability just stat uploads and such. I don’t play it much do to the fact that I am a online gamer. Hope this review will find you helpful.
