My favorite video game of all time! You won’t be disappointed- I bought mine way back in 2003 when it was released, and it has great replay value. In addition, if you want to get to 100% complete, you could easily spend 50-100 hours in the Skies of Arcadia universe. In addition, the characters are extremely loveable and memorable! :D
In this game you play as Vyse and his friends young air pirates on a quest to stop Valua a evil empire from getting six moon crystals each controlling a creature so powerful it could take over the sky/world. To do this you must go from solving puzzles to escaping burning buildings you also must make some choices. Air pirates are split into two groups Blue Rouges and Black Pirates Vyse is a Blue Rouge. This game is hard just not too hard!
Now is the time to check it out! It is a port so the graphics will suffer but the game itself is great. Don’t miss out.
Many people can argue that Skies of Arcadia: Legends for the Gamecube isn’t up to date with graphics in games today. Those people would be right. However, this is an INCREDIBLE game nonetheless. Its easy to follow, combat’s innovative yet interesting, the Arcadia world is huge, and this game is overall plain fun. If you’re not an RPG fan, I’m not entirely sure this would be the game for you. If you are, however, then have NO hesitation picking up this game. As said in the title, don’t let looks hinder your decision. Even though there is no voice acting, there is a very interesting story line. I literally spent over 50 hours playing this game (the game tells you how many you’ve played). This is because the games length is unbeatable because there are so many extra things one can do. You can choose your path and maintain your crewship and everything. I myself am a huge RPG fan meaning I have played hundreds of RPG games. Hands down, this is in my top 5 favorite. If a game company remade this game with uptodate graphics and voice acting then this game would be the best.
It was just as fun as I remember it being when I first played it years ago.
One of the best games ever.
Skies of Arcadia is full of action. I love every hour i play the game. Its full of suprises. I have to say the story line is awesome. I love it! The side quest are exciting to do. There is so much action and roll play which you can choose to do. I am going on almost 90hrs and i am still not done. This came is worth buying. You will not regret it! GO GET IT NOW!!!!PAIRATES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll make this short. I love this game. It’s so good that instead of telling you all the good things about this game, I’ll tell you the one technical gamebreaker. You get 3 additional (one addition at a time) party members for your main party. They join/leave you as the story goes on. Naturally, you may grow accustomed to/level up one character just as he decides to leave. When another character (re)joins he can be an extremely low level depending on how much you leveled him up since the last time he was with you. The *only* exception to this is the finale battle to the game. Disappointing. Also, this game is full of cliches. The cliches are presented so well, you won’t even care that they’re a cliche. It only adds to the nostalgia. If you like RPGs, which I’m not even a fan of save for a few titles, you most likely will love this game.
Skies of Arcadia is an excellent RPG you shouldn’t miss out on. The graphics do their job, the sound is excellent, and the story is decent. The battle system is a mix of party battle and ship battles, while a little lengthy and way too frequent, your wanting to play just to get to the next area. I haven’t played a game like this in a long time, a game where you want to really explore the world rather than rush through a story. 4/5, random battles knock it off one point because they are obsolete.
