I believe this is from the same team that made Kirby’s Pinball Land. I don’t know which one came out first, but in my opinion this is the better pinball game. The physics are better, and you have control of the ball. Like most games in the genre, you have certain objectives to clear, once that’s done the ball will get whisked away to a bonus area. The main board is about 3 screens tall, when you enter a new part of the board the screen will cut to it, instead of scroll. If you like video pinball games this is a good one to add to you collection, and it’s really affordable. It may not be a hidden gem, but it’s a fun experience.
Simple game with a high difficulty and replay value. The music is catchy and the gators are out to knock your ball in the gutter with a vengeance! I like Revenge of the Gator for its originality, its simple yet functional controls and its value. I was worried that the multiple table aspect would be bothersome but it turned out to be surprisingly fluid animation. Revenge of the Gator is highly affordable and provides good, fun challenge, two criteria which I look out for when collecting old games. You can get it on the 3DS e-shop for a couple of dollars but if you want to play in color, enjoy having a physical copy or want to play on any of the 7 Game Boy-compatible devices, you’ll want to get the original cartridge like I did.
I remembered this game from my younger years and was delighted to find it used on retrolio. The gameplay is really nice because it’s more lifelike than other pinball games (like muppets) that I have. It doesn’t scroll, rather jumps from screen to screen. I like this better. The way the ball moves is just like how the ball would move if playing in person. One thing I particularly love about this game is the mini games within it, or the bonus rooms. At first I didn’t think there was very much, but there are little holes that take you to different places if you can stay in a bonus room long enough. Also, in one room you must feed the alligator a certain number of the fish to get him to come down, and I keep trying and trying to find out what happens, but every time I feed him enough to come down, the ball flies around and I end up dropping back to the room below. So, simple game, but I really enjoy it.
