This came up on my radar after many of the online press gave it amazing reviews. Purchased it about a month ago and want to report that it may be of the best games I have ever played. Im a casual gamer now and anyone looking for a really fun game that is easy to pick up and get started, this is it.After that though you realize how deep the game is, that everything was designed near perfectly, making you truly want to come back and play it.Beautiful doesn’t do the game, with its Graphic’s and Style, justice.Multiplayer is a blast!At its current price ($29 on retrolio), its a game that shouldn’t be missed, and sadly it may end up being the forgotten gem of this generation of systems.
Let me begin this short review by stating that I almost exclusively play three genres of games on the Xbox 360: FPS, RPG, and sports. I am 22 years old and generally have no interest in this type of game. I didn’t own an N64 as a kid so I didn’t play a whole lot of Mario or other platformer. However…This game is impeccably made. The graphics are great, the gameplay is smooth, and the game is LONG. I can almost guarantee you will not do everything that you can in this game. There are over 60 levels, and they get progressively more difficult. Once you beat the levels, you can go back and play them again to gain a higher score, or do a time trial in which you run through the level as quickly as possible (not as easy as it sounds). For the price, you can’t beat this game. Heck, I’d probably even pay $60 for this. Honestly, if you’re thinking of buying it, just do it. You will not be disappointed.
Solid side scroller video game, can play up to 4 people.Its an arcade game, in true spirit of arcade fun.If looking for depth, move along. Want split second action with multiplayer fun, this is a great buy.Update 7-20-2014Must get kids games:
Absolutely the best Xbox family games we have. I ordered Rayman Legends and was so surprised at how awesome it is. My kids love it and there’s no naughty content. Its just a bunch of obstacle courses. The graphics and the musical score is fabulous. Great for adults too. Very addicting and the whole family will love it.
My kids LOVE this game!! It’s to them what Mario Bros was to my generation. They replay their favorite levels over and over. This makes it well worth the money compared to other games that get played once and then end up on a shelf untouched.

Very repetitive, but is very fun to play with friends as opposed to alone.. If you’re purchasing to play with your friends/roommates, I would recommend. May come off as a children’s game, but if you can move past that, it becomes an enjoyable experience! It also combines old school elements with new school graphics, which I appreciated much!
Rayman Origins is a wonderful platform game.First off, you can tell the game designers really enjoyed working on the game. This translates to me being tickled with it, too. Every aspect of the game is given full attention to detail, leading to an immersive experience.Graphics- While playing I had the sense that I was running, jumping, and flying my way through artwork. Yes, it’s 2D, but everything is so beautifully designed, colorful, and lush. Every level has it’s own background, which whenever I noticed it I paused to take a longer look. Honestly, the beauty of the game is one of my favorite things about it.Sound- The music also varies with each of the various "lands" you visit during the game. Even within each "land" the music seems to be specially tailored for individual levels. It’s cheerful, fun, and again even beautiful. As with the art, I’ve found myself sitting back just to enjoy the music from time to time.Gameplay- While a fairly straightforward platform game (2D, run and jump over obstacles, and smash the bad guys), there are a number of aspects that bump Rayman to a higher level. First of all, you gradually unlock different powers that allow you to explore more than just what is to your left and right. Eventually, you’ll be flying, jumping off of walls, and running upside down! This often gives you a choice of how to get from one place to another or how to beat a baddie that is unusually liberating for a platform game. Levels also vary.
