Use the BleemSync/Retroarch mod. All you do is just copy files to a USB drive, plug in and voila! You can run all the retro game systems you want! There are also adapters to use dual shock controllers too.
This system is so bad at many levels… all games are PAL versions so they run slower and the selección it’s not the best. It will not work with most USB ports (I use it with the PS4 ports) I give 5 stars cuz I know how it was before getting it, and the shop it’s not to blame for that. It’s more a collective piece than an actual system.
First things first there is NO AC Adapter however it says that on the box and you probably have one lying around. I’ve played a few games (Cool Boarders, Toshinden and Tekken 3) and I had fun. If you want to switch the PAL games to NTSC all you need to do is hold down Options, L1 and R1 (If you using a PS4 controller WITH the 8bitdo adapter) (You need the adapter to do this ) and you can have all of the PAL games running at 60FPS. While there aren’t scanlines and other features that were included with the NES/SNES classics I say if the games run fine then that’s not an issue for me. With the latest price drop of around $52-$55 dollars, I think it’s a must buy (Casing and controllers probably go close to that amount of money, to begin with) Please don’t listen to the haters!! What I will say is if you are looking for the same quality as the NES/SNES classic you will be disappointed, however, if you are looking for a device that plays PS1 games the way they played back in the 90s without all of the extra bells and whistles of the Nintendo classic consoles then go for it considering that this is probably the least expensive classic console on the market. Please make a PlayStation 2 classic!!!
I bought 2 PS classics because true blue mini USB stick sold on retrolio for $25 that adds 101 more games to the PS classic system!!!! total you can get 121 games on PS classic! :) also $20 8bitdo USB bluetooth adapter allows you to use PS4 controllers, hope this help. worth it.
This product came in tact with no damage to the shipping container. When I first opened the box I was amazed at how similar it looks to the classic, just a tad smaller. It comes with 20 of the best games pre-loaded onto it as well. My husband and I were so excited to get it out and play the games. The remotes were working and very well designed. We were able to play for hours on end with no technical issues at all. Very excited to continue buying Sony products!
Modmyclassic.com is pretty much all I have to say about this. If you want to whine about this then you obviously aren’t the kind of person that would appreciate the full potential this little box has. I personally have added games to both my NES CLASSIC and SNES CLASSIC, that I OWN same possibilites here. Now the same can be done for the PS Classic. The modding community is already working on making this piece of hardware and software run much better with themes and music, basically all the stuff Sony didn’t do.What is great in box is, the original 2 controllers don’t really care about dual shock as most of my time on this baby was spent on regular analog ones (only game I even remember using them on was Ape Escape), 2nd came with HDMI, Powercord (not plug, we all have some) and of course the Mini Unit. 3rd Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy 7 I could spend endless hours into both of these all over again. At this current price point no reason to not get one.
The games are lacking and Sony decided not to have any DLC to add games. The puzzle games, Mr Driller, FF7, Tekken3 and MGS hold up well, the rest are not so great. Luckily this system is easily modded, just make sure to get the games that are “PS made for PSP”. Youtube is your friend for obtaining the info you need to ‘fix’ this system.
I got this for 20 dollars during some deal thing going on. I spent another 5 dollars on a 32 gb USB stick and put autobleem and retroarch on it. It is very easy, just find a youtube video on it- it is a matter of drag and drop.It is an retro powerhouse now. I have my childhood in this small little package. I am pretty sure you can find a portable powerbank and portable monitor and take this thing everywhere.
im pretty sure these people leaving negative reviews think mayonnaise is spicy.console is fine, games work fine, its a lot of fun if you are not a biased little child. i am only taking 1 star off because it does not come with a power brick.also the people complaining about the game selection, you do realize these are the games that do not require a dualshock controller and these are the games that started the playstation franchise, then later down the road we started seeing dualshock controllers and a bigger and better game selection. sony did nothing wrong here, THIS IS WHAT THEY STARTED WITH! i am also sure we will see some “upgrades” or some sort of attachments for this down the road.Update: i saw some complaints about frame rate issues, i noticed not 1. maybe those people should not play their games on a potato.
A great buy if you want to mod it. I love the PS1, but this mini is terrible on its own. First off, the lack of good games is the worst part. You get some gems like FFVII, Jumping Flash, and GTA, but you also get some junk games. Second, the emulation is not perfect. The only true way to enjoy this is modify it. I won’t detail how, but purchase a 128GB Sandisk Cruzer and read how to add your games. It’s worth it only when you mod it. Shame on you Sony.
