I bought this for my older brother. it is a very good game from sega’s better days. a 3D rail shooter. Panzer dragoon saga is a much better game but it has become a rare and expensive game.

Even though the game is 14 years old the gameplay and graphics hold up surprisingly well. It’s a fine example that good gameplay and art direction will make a game last through the ages.

I remember playing the demo for this when I first got my Sega Saturn at 14. It was amazing. The music was also spectacular (I could listen to it by popping the disc into my CD player; even in 2012 it still works). I finally played the full game much later. It’s challenging, but the visuals are magnificent. This isn’t just nostalgia talking; this is a great, imaginative game.

This is a great flying shooter. It was a benchmark game not only for the Saturn but for video games period. You will not regretthe purchase.

This game is quite interesting in that it was one of the sega Saturn series games to have 3 on them and continue long after the system was dropped suddenly. This game is a hogpog of many different elements like Gameplay of StarFox, artstyle reminisent of French artist Mobius (who did the Japanese art cover for it) and setting very familiar to Hayao Miyazaki fans like Naussica of the Valley of the Wind. All these elements collide together in a very abstract and quite pleasing to look at game that spans 7 levels in a arcade style game. all SEga Saturn gamers should own this one.

Great game and forever a classic but do yourself a favor and DO NOT get the Saturn version. Why, you ask?Because the entire original game is included for free with Panzer Dragoon Orta which was released for the original Xbox and it makes no sense to buy the Saturn version anymore for that reason alone. For some reason these Amazon sellers on here seem to be banking on the fact that it’s a “classic” and that most people will be ignorant to the fact that this entire game was included as part of Panzer Dragoon Orta as bonus content on the same disc. These people are and have been selling the Saturn version on Amazon for WAY TOO LONG for such ridiculous prices when Orta is will run you $80 TOPS and $40 minimum. You tell me what the better choice is between the two.The other reason why you should get Orta instead is because you’re not just getting one good Panzer Dragoon game but TWO because Orta is also wonderful and leaps and bounds ahead of the original and the second game in the series(Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei)If that doesn’t tell you enough then keep in mind that the original game here is only 6 levels AND it’s much easier to find an original Xbox than it is to find a Sega Saturn and AGAIN for a better price.Panzer Dragoon will always be a classic rail shooter and one of Sega’s best releases but don’t make the mistake of buying a version that’s practically obsolete and overpriced at this point in time. But Panzer Dragoon ORTA instead.
This was a launch title in the early 90’s for the Sega Saturn and it still holds the test of time. A 3D rail shooter with a great sound track. You have to play this game through an entertainment center to get the full scope of this game.

There have been so many on-rails shooters (and off-rails shooters) since the original Panzer Dragoon, that sometimes it seems like a forgotten relic (ironic given the setting of the game). But like those ancient weapons of Panzer Dragoon lore, the original is one powerful old piece of technology.I remember when the Saturn came out. I was a kid, and I had no money. But boy, did I want one! And the game I wanted, was Panzer Dragoon. A 3D shooter…where you ride on the back of a flying dragon. If that doesn’t get your imagination going, nothing will.At any rate, on a trip to Disney World I stood there and played Panzer Dragoon for I don’t know how long (through the fourth level I think) while my family enjoyed all the other exhibits at Inoventions. I could have sat there all day, transfixed. Many years later I was finally able to play the Panzer Dragoon games on a Saturn of my own. For many years Panzer Dragoon II (Zwei) was my favorite game of all time. And yes,I owned and beat Panzer Dragoon Saga.Since this game came out I’ve played Star Fox 64, Rez, Child of Eden, and Sky Gunner. I’ve played Panzer Dragoon Orta. And I’ve cried silent tears that Crimson Dragon was released for Xbox One instead of for a current-gen system. But…I will ALWAYS remember the original Panzer Dragoon. It has outdated graphics, a beautiful orchestral score, and it’s hard. But that’s the stuff that nostalgia is made of. I’ll probably be playing Panzer Dragoon games until the day I die, clutching them in my cold, dead hands.
If you’re a fan of rail-shooters (Star Fox, Space Harrier, etc.) then you’ll love this. The 32-bit graphics look great if you’re into retro games of this sort and the soundtrack is gorgeous. The gameplay is a ton of fun too, though you’ll be trying more than a few times to finish the game as it certainly is a tough one. One of the best Saturn games out there.
