This game had so much for it, but there a few flaws in the menu areas. The graphics aren’t bad and in fact they were better than I expected. The controls are easy to get used to and I think they might be the same as ones in the EA Sports HHL game. The only problem I had was the setup of the menu, which was very hard to figure out where things were at. Overall this is a good hockey game and I would recommend it.
For years I always found the NHL 2K series vastly superior to EA’s NHL franchise, but lately since both have made the jump to the next-gen, EA’s NHL has been coming out on top in terms of simulation-style hockey. That being said though, NHL 2K10 is still a fun and enjoyable hockey video game experience. There are plenty of play modes and customization options at your fingertips to keep you occupied for quite some time, and playing in itself is a smooth experience. Online play is buggy however, which is disappointing to be sure, but for the most part, NHL 2K10 is a great alternative to EA’s franchise. That being said, if you’ve already taken the plunge with NHL 10, there really isn’t any reason to take a dive in NHL 2K10, but if for some reason NHL 10 isn’t your cup of tea, this is pretty much your only option otherwise.
This game is very fun. I love it, but the speed of the game is to slow. It also takes about an hour of adjusting the the game sliders to your preferences before the game becomes fun. you can adjust the skating speed of the players, but at the top level, it’s still slightly to slow. you should also slow the shot speed down a little. the graphics are good, the music is alright, but i hate the menu system. I don’t know why, but i just hate it. also, i don’t think you can put a created team in the franchise mode, if you can, then i don’t know how.
This is a pretty good game. It’s a step up from the years past in 2ksports NHL games, and it continues to get more realistic. I have it on PS3 and am pretty happy with my purchase. Graphics are of course, pretty stunning. The fighting isn’t that good – two buttons, really?Overall it is decent. Not perfect, but I don’t know if any sports game ever will be. Definitely fun to play!
Why I must write 20 words.I like it, it is just what I asked for, it’s ok.I think that I like it is enough.
The graphics are not tremendous. The announcing is horrible. that said, the gameplay is fast and fun. I have EA version, and the graphics and play by play are much better, but the gameplay is not as action packed. this offers much more end to end play, so I actually would recommend this over EA.
My grandson loved it.
pretty good, very realistic looking when paired with my 46″ tv, would definately reccomend to anyone looking for a great hockey game
Forget what some people may say about this game and see for yourself. The only way to see if you like it is to play it. I myself have purchased EA’S hockey game for the past two seasons. But what held me back from buying EA’S game again this year was i feared it might just be the same game as last year with very few improvements and i was right Nhl 10 is bascially just a roster update for NHL ’09. On the other hand NHL 2k9 was terrible and this years version is much much better. Nhl 2k10 delievers a slighty more realistict expierence. Yes the commentating is pretty bland and the Goalie masks are ugly but the player models move just as their real life counterparts do and the graphics at first take some getting used to but they grow on you. Espesically the NHL arenas and player faces. The Staples Center in L.A. has all the Banners of the Lakers retired numbers including Chick Hearns retired microphone jersey. They also put the Kings Conference Banners(the few they have)also they even added Penny Tollier retired L.A. Sparks jersey. When you first play the game you may not like it but once you get used to the controls and game physics you will love it as i do. Just give the game a chance for at least a week if you dont like it trade for something else that was what i was planning on doing but now im keeping NHL 2K10 for good.
I have been playing NHL2K games since 2K7 came out for ps3 4 years ago, I made the jump because EA hockey games weren’t all that great when I had ps2. Before I got ps3 the only EA NHL game that my friends and I would play was NHL2001, then i made a gamble on 2004 and it was beat. Im sure a bunch of EA fanboys will jump all over this. I think 2K hockey games are under rated and people get the EA sports NHL and trash 2K without even playing it. Im not saying anything bad about the NHL10 i just haven’t played it yet. All Im saying is that for the fourth year in a row 2k has made another hockey game that is fun to play. The main menu is a bit odd but you get used to it.
