This is another game that has been approved by my 9 year old daughter. She loves this game & will play it for hours.
Pikmin!
My 8 year old loves it. We had seen it on nintendoland and research said that this version was most like that. Was a little disappointed that she has to "kill" things. But I accept that might be me being just too sensitive ( thats the 1 missing star).Overall, as long as you help a little here and there, an 8 year old can cope fine. They wont finish it in 5 minutes neither.Im a happy daddy.
This game is very good.I have recently played and finished pikmin 3. I wanted to see how the pikmin game series began and so far it hasn’t disappointed.
My grandson loves it! He already wants the number 2 one. I told him that I would get it fr hm for Christmas, but he got it for St. Nick’s on the 6th. Because the most reputable people on retrolio got it to us n record time- in perfect condition! So my grandson said- if St. nck brought this, what will you do for Christmas? He sooo loved this game, and was thrilled!
Looked all over for this game and it was way more expensive
Some may remember my review on the original Pikmin this is just a updateControls: The controls are pretty much the same and are easy to use once you use them once or twice. Moving is nice and easy like in the original. All you have to do is move the control stick on the nunchuck and thats it.Graphics: the graphics are better then the original. Guess what the water is now easy to see :D now you can tell the difference.Game play: The game has the same good story *a fast over view again* you crash land on a planet and you have to find enough parts in 30 day while taking care of your pikmin.Monsters: Okay the monsters look better and thats it.Pikmin: The pikmin look a lot better now.Pros: Has cute pikmin and monsters, is something new and fun to play, has fun mind busters to solve and makes for a small challenge for people *NEW* You can see the water.Cons: You only have 30 days to finish, some of the monsters are kind of hard and it takes forever to pick the pikmin out of the ground.Over all it’s a really good remake.
If you haven’t already played Pikmin on the GameCube, this game is an excellent opportunity to catch up with a great game. If you’ve already played this game there is literally nothing new here besides the controls. No new extra modes, no multi-player, no extra levels, no noteworthy graphical upgrades. Just new controls. For those of you who haven’t played the game yet, it is a very solid game. To sum it up simply, you take control of Olimar, a diminutive space explorer that crash lands on an earth like planet filled with hostile bugs and critters. You control a small army of Pikmin that do your bidding by fighting and carrying stuff for you. Red, Yellow, and Blue Pikmin have different abilities which you must take advantage of as you traverse the terrain of each of the levels. In typical Nintendo fashion, there is a great deal of exploration where you can see an area of the game but can’t get to it until you unlock new abilities which require you come back to previous levels. Gameplay is broken into thirty 15-20 minute “days” in which you frantically try to cram as many accomplishments as possible into the short time frame. It all works very well, although I wish the 30-day limit wasn’t in place. I found Pikmin to be quite entertaining 8 years ago, and still like it to this day.THE NEW CONTROLS: The new controls work extremely well. There isn’t any pointless remote waggle and the pointer controls work pretty well.GRAPHICS: Aside from progressive scan support and 16.
Quirky and fun little game back on the GameCube; here on Wii with better controls (especially the pointer) it is even more enjoyable. I’ve played the heck out of it over the years and still will pick it up again on occasion. Have not actually fully completed this particular version but I don’t think much else changed besides the controls.
