Delivered prompt and as promised. Cartridge worked right off (well, all NES cartridges require a minute of finagling…). For those unfamiliar with the game: wonderful, simple, by-the-book version with minimal animation; that is, the game we know and love with an automated and fast banker. Perfect. 2-8 players, any combo of human/AI, 1-2 controllers.
A NES version of Monopoly so good as the board game, it’s very hard to complain. The makers really did a good job with this, making it a very addicting game to play. I love the wheeling-and-dealing aspect of it, and the computer players aren’t that stupid. Up to 7 computer players is a big treat. Knowing how to play it the right way, Monopoly is a lot of fun. It’s definitely one of the best NES games ever made. Below are the strategies in how to beat the game. Depending on the number of computer players in the game (I prefer 7 of them), don’t count on landing on a series of cards of one color before being able to build houses. It almost never works because of the probability of it happening is too low. Wheeling-and-dealing is the only way to get there. I find railroads and utilties useless. Sure, they make money, but there is nothing like getting walloped by $900 bill for a hotel bill. Here’s how to play the game the right way.There are two ways about it in the beginning. If you are landing any of the properties just up to the Yellow (Dark Purple is nice, but the cards are useless and are mainly for decorations), buy them. Went with our retro christmas theme. It’s monopoly what else can you really say. It’s awesome! We’re having a lot of fun playing it.
Talk about throwback! I love this game, and my 3 year old loves watching me play it! So glad to find a $15 retro Nintendo console to play all my old games and to add this one to the stack!
