for a baseball nut who also enjoys an RPG, the MLB life mode is just awesome. The only problem is you can play your MLB career as a batter, but you never get to take the field.. what gives?? other than that, just endless hour
Delivery Time was very bad ( Traveled from Wherehouse in Florida to California and then back to Marianna, Florida ) should have only taken a couple days instead of almost 3 Weeks…
Item was brand new. Game is great!
its great, addicting and very fun to play and it works well on my ps2
MLB Power Pros 2008 is fantastic. Don’t let the “kiddie” graphics fool you. Beneath the veneer of playing with animated caricatures of MLB players (which my wife calls my “little league game”) lies a surprisingly deep baseball game. It’s a pleasing blend of arcade and sim elements. The controls are logical although they take some practice to master. Fortunately, the game is highly customizable in terms of difficulty settings such that some experimentation should result in a balanced level of play against the CPU.While there’s an Exhibition (practice game) mode, a very comprehensive Practice feature and a simple Home Run derby, the meat of MLBPP lies in these game modes: Success, MLB Life and Season. Success is where you create a player and develop him through training and AA/AAA minor league seasons to get his shot at the Big Leagues. MLB life allows you to play through a 20 year career as a real or created player. Both these contain strong RPG elements in the quirky Japanese style. These certainly have their appeal, but for me the Season mode is the high point of MLBPP. Here you can play through up to 10 MLB seasons as GM and Manager, playing as little or as much of the games as you choose. You can do this as either an established MLB team, a fictional expansion team or use an Arranged team of your own making with any combination of real and gamer-created ballplayers. Playing through the games yourself is very entertaining, after which you can view comprehensive st.
I ordered this game which is similar to the 2007 version which I liked very much and ordered soon after this order.

The new version of MLB Power Pro, 2008, is the 2nd offering in the series. The game play and visual style is just as good if not better than the 2007 version. It still has that RBI baseball feel to it from years ago with the added depth of stats stats and more stats. They have added numerous features including bullpen warm-ups, apparently this doesn’t happen in Season mode, MLB Life mode, A new storyline in Success Mode, and they’ve changed the standard music that you hear on the management screens thankfully. They have added a few new announcer’s phrases. I haven’t experienced the mistaken play calling, ground balls on pop ups etc, as in the previous version but it is reported to still exist. The one complaint I really have is that non of the previous version’s data is transferable to this version. So custom players and teams appear to be lost. The game play is basically the same and you can easily just pick this game up and play it without much of a learning curve. One change I noticed in the game play is how batters who hold their bat slightly over the plate before the pitch are translucent instead of solid. In other words Kevin Youkilis’ bat doesn’t obstruct your view of the pitch if you are viewing the play from the batters’ perspective. Also, you do not move the batter back and forth in the box to reach for a pitch. Instead the bat reaches out. This means it is near impossible to purposely get hit by an inside pitch. If there is a setting to change this I haven’t found it.
