At first, I was a little put off with certain aspects of the game. I was expecting it to be almost exactly like the first to a tee. But I was wrong. And I’m glad! Mario Power Tennis is something else. It now has a feature where you can have distractions all over the court causing you to trip and slip all over, even slowing down sometimes if you hit them. Don’t worry though, if you don’t like them you can turn them off (in 2 Player mode). The gameplay is awesome and just as intense, if not more so than the first. Especially the one on one matches where you have to play the full court alone. There are 3 unlockable characters if I’m not mistaken but I won’t give them away here. One big disappointment for me was that Toad somehow was left out of this one as a playable character.
This game is a whole lot of fun. There is a great selection of characters from the Mario world, each with their own abilities. The one downside I found was some rallies that go on forever, then again, I suppose that happens in real tennis. This is a good older game to play with friends.
This game is very addiction. Great graphics and lots of unlockables. The power shots are pretty annoying but only in singles against the CPU. Less of a problem in doubles and with friends you can turn off the option.Worth every penny.
Worked great with no problems at first i want sure it would be the real deal but it is and I love it!
Exactly what I expected. Good shipping time.
A Great Tennis Game. I loved it on the N64, and now I love it even more. Especially all the mini games you play to unlock other courts or characters. The mini games is a blessing to the game espacially if you are playing alone. But get a few friends and make it a night. The power ups are a great addition on the court. Kinda like Mario Kart meets Mario Tennis. No go buy the game!
this is one of the best games for the gamecube. like once you start playing you cant stop playing. this game has 3 modes, tourney, 1-4 players, and special modes where you play fun games. there are like 20 characters to choose from. my favorites are the koopa troopas. there are new things called a power shot that you can turn on and off. the power shots help you hit the balls harder and so you can hit the tennis balls. if you could rate it over 5 stars i would rate it 10000000000000000 stars. this game is up to 4 players and is really fun.
I remember mario tennis for the nintendo 64. It was good fun because it had a simple 2 button control scheme, and was accessable and fun enough for a beginner to come play and win. Well, Mario Power Tennis is now available for the gamecube, and Im glad to say, it is just as fun, and even better than before. The basics are the same: Run around the tennis court as one of your favorite nintendo mascots, hitting A to deliver a topspin or B to slice, or a combination of the two to either lob or drop. If you hit the button before the ball comes, you can charge your shot, as well as aim it to make it harder to hit. The system is a lot deeper than that though, because shots accurately move depending on how fast the ball was traveling, where it was hit, and how high it was hit. The system is deep, but accessable. There are new features, one of which is the ability to do powerful, game-stopping super moves once your character has charged up. Each character has 2 power moves, offensive (super powerful only near the ball) and defensive (retreives the ball if it is far away). These for the most part add to the game, adding a layer of strategy. The animations of the character’s power shot are zany and funny… for the first few times. After a while, stopping the game to watch these moves gets sort of annoying, bt fortunatley, there is the option to turn them off during exhibition mode.Another change is the new “gimmick” courses. Besides the standard courts, each themed court has a obstical o.
This is a very fun, addictive game. I definately don’t think it’s worth $50 though. I would wait until the price is lower, there aren’t many different things to do with it or unlock. It is a great game of tennis, it’s hard to stop playing. It reminds me exactially of those Beach Volleyball games. Repetitive, but fun. :)
I always wanted to play this game, Very satisfied.
