My kids played this game years ago. We were looking for things to do during quarantine and included this game. We’re all competitive, so it definitely hits the mark!
Easy to learn, lots of fun to play! I recommend it to anyone who enjoys playing card and/or board games. I like it so much that I bought it in the junior version as well so I can teach it to my young friends.
I learned how to play this game on a recent trip with a friend. I thought it would be fun to play when I went on vacation with my kids and grandkids. It’s pretty easy to learn. After they studied the instructions, we played a few games nearly every evening. It’s too complicated for young children, but the adults enjoyed it a lot. Highly recommend this game for a fun way to spend time with friends and family.
We got these as a Christmas gift this past year, and we really enjoy playing this game! Easy to learn and a game that you just don’t want to stop! We played this game when we had snow days and on the weekends with family!
It took my kids some time to warm up to this game. It is easy to learn and require minimal strategy. It can be a long game so we usually deal less cards in order to shorten the game. If you know how to count, you can play this!
This is one of many games I have recently purchased in the pursuit of games a wide range of ages can enjoy. To give you some perspective, the ages of my household are 5, 7, 10, 33, and 37 with a 15 year old in the Summer. I picked up this one because we have a lot of fun with Uno. It has not disappointed. Sure enough, the game is easy enough that all of us can play and play well– the five year old has actually beaten us a few times. The ONLY thing I would say about this game as a drawback is that game play can go way long. We noticed in the instructions it suggests an alternative method using a stockpile of only 10 cards versus the 30 and we will be going this route in the future. 30 is just way too many and drags on. Still, the game is easy to tweak, easy to learn, and fun to play.
The game is fun to play, and can be played with strategy or just for fun depending on the players. It can become a little slow however with a bunch of players, specially if some of them don’t get the rules that good. The game says it is simple but is a little more complex than it sounds. The first three rounds i played with my family had to explain it everytime someone’s turn came around. Even so, with players that can easily grasp the instructions it becomes super addictive and fun to play.
I had to add more card to the set as my wife and I play with large stacks to get rid of. Love this game. I find it more fun with its just two of us playing as you can really stick it to the other person. When the 11 year old plays my wife and her try to keep me from winning as I normally win as I am so cut throat. They don’t care about they’re stacks as long as it messes with mine. It’s my favorite game of all the games we play. Each game is different then the last. The moment you flip a card from your stack it can either be good or bad so the anticipation is enjoyable. Since you never know what the next card will bring you have to plan ahead and be prepared for anything. Two 11’s in a row… No problem I’ve got this.
I used to play this game with my grandmother years ago, so when my five year-old started growing out of her kid games (i.e. Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, etc.), I picked this up with some others. She really enjoys playing it, and has even won a round a few times. She really gets in to the strategic aspects of playing, and even taunts other players when they set her up to play cards from her “stockpile.” The counting aspects are easy for her to pick up, and the use of the discard piles helps her understand how to make choices that will help/hurt her chances for winning in a much better way than a game like Uno might.Durability is what you would expect from a card game. They won’t last forever, especially when playing with kids. But, you will have a lot of fun with this one when playing with your kids (or even other adults)!
This is an amazing addition to our game collection! We have over 25 board and card games to supplement our homeschooling efforts. This one was recommended by a friend whose kids love the game. My son is 6 and this is an awesome way for him to practice numeracy! I still help him a lot with the overall game, but he asks for this very often and its especially nice that a lost card or two will not really affect play. I would recommend this very highly to any family, but especially to homeschooling families who use play as learning.
