One of my all-time favorite games.
When this game came out, it grabbed me, and those I know! The 1st person viewpoint throws you right into the game from the 1st moment you turn it on! For kids, it seemed scary, and for some adults, a bit slow, but for those who stick it out, this game goes on to many surprises. There are treasures to find, magic to hurl, mazes to get lost in, unusual enemies, hidden secrets, monsters to fight, and more! I also have KF 2, but for it’s time, KF1 is a classic with astounding graphics!
early from software title. these games were pretty divisive when they came out. its a first person dungeon crawler that can be fairly difficult when starting off. story is pretty sparse and there are very few npc’s to interact with. this game is all about atmosphere, exploration, and combat, and all of those things are done very well when you consider when this game came out. back in the Ps1 and ps2 era of games this wasn’t something that many people were looking for. long intricate plots or cinematic experiences was what everyone was looking for (think final fantasy or Metal gear solid). However, in recent years there has been a movement to focus more on gameplay and actual challenge in video games which is a big reason why From Software’s newer games (demon’s souls and dark souls) have been met with such praise and success. If you like those newer games then you will like this as well. the focus is more on exploration than combat in the kings field games but they are still very similar to the souls series. Note: also try shadow tower PS1 and eternal ring PS2 in addition to the other king’s field games.

It plays very well, the story line is very good, the movement is very easy to handle, reaction time is not slow at all! A lot of places, & people to meet, a lot of weapons, armor, & needed items, such as strength increasers, the same for defense, magic, & poison protection too! There’s also a way to travel to one place to another in a very , very short time, like transporting you there! All together, this game spells out, fun time, you have try it , to like, I like to go back all the time to this game, Kings field 1, 2, & 3!
