I GIVE THIS GAME 4.5 STARS.ITS NICE ANIMATION,GRAPHICS ECT.THE USE OF MAGIC,AND OTHER ABILTIES MAKE IT A STEP UP FROM THE ORGINAL(i’d give that one a 4),BOTH FUN REPLAY VALUE.THE DUEL SEQUENCE ARE AMONG THE THE MOST INTERESTING(trick too duels make sure your armies zeal bar is higher then the computers or you’ll loss).I WON WITH ONLY ONE CONTINUE ON CAO-CAO HARDEST LEVEL. THIS GAME ALLOWS YOU TOO BE A BIT LAZY -IT WILL PLAY IT SELF JUST FINE.THAT IS THE DRAW BACK.
A complete package with expected shipping that was all good!The game itself is great and a lot of fun! Kessen II is certainly a fair bit different from the original but that is not all bad whether you’ve played the first one or not. I would even suggest getting all 3 games (For reasonable or cheap prices) if you like one or the other because the’re all so different just keep in mind that they are all very different. With that said Kessen II Is strategic sword, spells, & bows, military game set in ancient times of the Chinese dynasties. All of the officer in the game are based off real people of the time with a magical and fictitious spin to make things more interesting. The strategic elements aren’t quite like the original but still fun no the less. I personally love getting involved with the battle after two opposing army clash by playing as the commanding officer. Plus it’s entertain to watch the duels that happen during this battle. Honestly though the story really just seems like an excuse for big battle. It can be hard to follow and isn’t even worth following really. I thing because of this and the repetitive nature of each battle it can be hard to see the game through to the end.Whether you want to command many armies or just get in on the action this is a great game to do both in.
Kessen 2 is a game which suits me fine. Good graphics, Cool music and excellent gameplay. However, if you are not into ROTK stories and strategy / Epic battle games maybe you should avoid it as it can be somewhat tedious. The story is excellent and there are alot of cool characters and plots. I played it non-stop (Well, almost. I went to work in between the sessions) just because I wanted to know how the story would unfold. I still play it sometimes. It’s one of my favourite moments in front of the Ps2.
just like the title says, there are many historical errors in this game. there is no record of Zhang Fei ever having daughters, Cao Cao and Liu Bei were most certainly not brothers (just look at their surnames Cao and Liu). There is no historical record of Liu Bei ever even meeting Diao Chan. There is no record of Cao Cao being a mama’s boy. Cao Cao’s army never consisted of Himiko. Sun Li was not the name of Liu Bei’s wife (It was Lady Sun or SunShangXiang, the adopted daughter of Sun Jian). The list goes on and on, but the biggest flaw is a part where Liu Bei cares nothing about the restoration of the Han Empire. Read the book Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong and you’ll understand. Another bad part about this game is that battles take forever. It took me about 2 and a half hours to do the last battle in Liu Bei’s campaign.
Have not played this game since my ps 2 went belly up but am still hanging onto it..in case I ever buy a backward capable ps3 or another ps 2 absolutely love this game
its the best game ever and it has the best graphics too what else is there to say ITS AWSOME!!!!

Kessen 2 lets you DECIDE wether you want to train or recruit troops, research weapon or assist in land development to increase your supply. The game lets you control your commander while in battle and allows you to control the camera while your troops move on to their assigned destination. This features GIVES YOU THE FEELING YOU ARE IN COMMAND which is the theme of the game.The MAGIC abilities is by far the most coolest feature made on Playstation 2. KOEI has also been successful with their "NEW CLUSTER CONTROL ENGINE," where hundreds of battling troops can be displayed at the same time, which will leave you asking "How in the world did they do it?"The graphics is excellent and still unparalleled to this date, your gaming life will never be the same again after playing Kessen 2!To KOEI, Congratulations and PLEASE make more of this game. Maintain the ambiance and features of the game I’ll pay double the price for KESSEN 3 !!!
