This is an eight bit game from the NES. If you want to see real-looking scenery and hear real-sounding (though not always funny) commentary, call Tiger Woods. Jack Nicklaus Golf (JNG) is a moderately enjoyable game (the sound of the ball going into the bunker is as funny as it is gutwrenching), although I have to admit I wouldn’t have bought it if I hadn’t had a bit of nostalgia attached. This was one of the ones that I had back in the day and someone (my thieving, hocking ex sister in law) took off my hands for me. So this purchase was intended to set the Universe right again. Ahhh. I feel better now.JNG supports multi-player action. You can also play against the computer. You can play skins and stroke play. JNG does still retain the challenge that I thought I remembered it having. You know that old, unfair, ripoff, NES quirk caused from poorly programmed control, iffy controllers, or someone bumping the console and everything freezing up? Ya. There was some of that. Ahh. I love a challenge. But even when things work flawlessly (as they were meant to) in this game, it is every bit as challenging as Tiger Woods 20XX. Its worth a penney and a little shipping to take this walk down memory lane. I miss my mom saying, “If that game makes you so mad, then why do you keep playing it?” Maybe I’ll give her a call.
